Against that turn his range went from a big dog to small favorite. I understand the flop check sucked. I don't know about making the hand suck more now by betting.

How are you coming up with that? I used the range that you put villain on with pokerstrategy.com equilab and my numbers are:

Hero: 52.97%
Villain: 47.03%

I actually think we're in better shape than that because with a hand like AK, he would likely bet after our check, so I would discount some kings from his range.

Edit: On second thought discounting AK combos doesn't change much, and we are a slight underdog if we drop the AA and KK combos (which he likely reraises with PF). I guess I'm okay with the check on the turn.

We beat QQ, AJ and AT, KQ, AA (for now)
We chop with AK

I would want to make a 1/2 pot bet here in case our read on V is wrong - but i don't see him just calling (he'd probably check/raise with most str8s and boats). So I think we'd be valu-owning ourselves with a turn bet.

I guess we check it back and pray for the K

Nothing worse calls really, I think we need to check and hope V has air and finds a bluff button.

This is where I thought I was at. C/called $15 on turn. River completed the flush and I check called $20 to be shown AQ. I think I should have folded river. Villain said "if I knew it was AK I would've bet more."
