AZ indian Casino, 4/8 Kill pot. 8 players. This was my first Live LHE game in 8 or 9 years.

Loose passive game, 6 players to the flop not that rare.

MP is to my left, 30ish YO Hispanic, large. Been playing a wide range. BTN and SB older typical LP regs. MP and myself occasionally raisers, not too many other raisers.

I honestly don't remember who had the kill but 95% sure it wasn't MP.

fold, I fold, MP calls. fold, CO call, BTN call, SB kill checks, fold.

FLOP is 7s8x9s

SB bets, MP calls, fold, BTN raises, SB 3 bets, MP calls, BTN caps. call call.

Turn is a blank

SB bets, MP calls, jawing starts, BTN raises, SB 3 bets, MP calls, cap call call

River

3s unpaired board.

SB whines and checks, MP bets, BTN whines and calls. SB calls.

MP shows Ks6s and scoops $300+ pot. Other two throw down their J10os.

I initially thought MPs play was -EV but "big pots play themselves"- I ran some equity values and am not so sure now.

MPs play was fine. He has a decent flush draw and his straight outs might be good sometimes too, he pretty much has to stay in once he sees that flop.

I thought it was possible, but unlikely(I didn't see these LP regs jamming a draw) that one of them had A10s or even AJs which was bad news for MP. Then they started talking on the turn.

MP should fold preflop but the hand plays itself postflop.

I misread and thought he said that mp WAS the kill. So yeah that part was pretty bad but to be honest probably not even in the bottom 25% of his range.

yes I would not be opening in MP with k6s in this game. Even the with all the limping.

edit-to be fair I was not 100% sure he WASN'T the kill. He seemed like a pretty solid postflop player with a very wide open range.

i dont see any big errors in this hand

K6s probably a fold pre but at 4/8 id play it anyway.

Well, he should have folded if he somehow knew two players both had the nuts and would cap the flop and the turn, but no one knows that so you just get trapped for multiple bets.

Why play it anyway?

He open limped UTG+2 not knowing it would go off 4-handed without any raises. Seems like a losing strategy. ATF I'd stay in not liking my straight draw and loving my flush draw. I think it's an easy fold pf without a second thought.

because its 4/8, i was being facetious.

4/8 is unbeatable due to rake and the only reason to play it is to goof around imo.

All 4/8 games I have played are certainly still beatable even with high rake. Not enough money to be worth playing if your goal is to make money though.
