Since things have been a little slow around here of late, I've been trying to think of a way to fire things up. I like challenges and forum bets, so here you go... The Strat Hand a Week Challenge:

1) Participants will agree to post at least one strategy hand a week for the next 4 weeks. i.e. You have to post a hand by 11/10, 11/17, 11/24, and 12/1. The hands must be limit hold'em hands of interest to small stakes players. The hands don't have to be of our stakes, so micros and midstakes hands would be fine. Hands can be online or live.

2) Participants will pay a $20 forfeit if they fail to post all 4 weeks. The successful participants will split the forfeit funds (hopefully zero).

3) Everyone will kick in an additional $5, and the best post of the 4 weeks will receive total pool. The best winner will be chosen by me. I'll kick in the $5, but my posts won't be eligible to win.

4) I'll try to get the winning poster a custom under title, if I can. We can negotiate, but I was thinking "Epic Strat".

5) When you post your hand for the week, post a link here. If you want to give feedback on the quality of the post, rate the thread and post here. i.e. "BBB rocked his thread this week, by far the best so far".

So epic posters, you are hereby challenged. Post in this thread that you're in. Contact me about escrow. Put up your $25, and let's see if we can all have an epic November. Let's have some awesome posts.

You have to top post a new hand each week. You're looking for epic. Replying counts for zero, though is fun/social/a good thing to do.

I can't participate, but think this is an awesome idea.

I've barred myself from online for 6 months so no way to participate but I'll try to post more starting now.

Is the problem here that we need to raise the stakes? Would $500 a head make it a little more interesting? I'm not saying we should. I'm just asking.

OK, deal me in. I don't play that much right now and most of my hands are more related to super-specific-opponent exploitation because of the small player pool, but I'll do my best to find the most interesting hand.

I might join in, but I've got to say that I enjoy seeing a flood of hand posts from all the good players. Yay!

Facepalm for you because I wanted to save this one for the weakest group so I could procure the promised monies.

I'm guessing everyone brings out their big guns week 1 or waits for the finale, so I'm gonna post hard in week 2.

Or am I just leveling to get everyone to post crap in week 1?
