Live 6/12 at the Oaks. Table is passive but not crazy loose like sometimes. Pretty predictable tho.

there's like 3 pf limpers, i raise K9 on button. SB folds and BB calls, limpers call. 5 players to flop.

flop: 10 J 6

BB bets, 2 callers, i raise, everyone calls.

Ppl had been respecting my pf raises with flop aggression, so i was pretty sure if i repped an overpair here, i would get a free card. After thinking about it more, i think i shoulda just called flop closing the action. I'm basically drawing to 3 clean outs here. My overcard is pretty dirty and the flush draws could still hit even if i hit the Q on the turn. Also, BB would prob 3-bet flop if he had 10J or a set. If no flush draw out there, i'm thinking i should raise it tho.

I think you have kind of answered your own question here: just calling on the flop. People rarely go to the casino to fold, and I think you may just be charging yourself to draw to outs that may not even be clean.

I love the preflop raise, however with the K 9 on button.

I think that this table read makes the preflop raise thinner than at a different table. You're going to be dominated more often by people limping with better kings, without having the benefit of them limping in with a lot of weaker hands.

I think even without the flush draw, raising this flop with a gutshot last to act is bad.

Also think about when you spike after just calling the flop bet. You frequently get to go 2 bets on the turn, whereas when you raise flop you frequently do not get 2 bets on the turn.

this play would be more legitimate if:

1) there were no flush draw on board
2) you held two overcards to the board, not one
