8-16 at Commerce. I'm CO with KdTh. 2off limps, I call, button calls SB calls and BB raises.

Everyone calls.

Flop comes QdJd8d. BB bets, 2off calls, I call and the rest fold.

Turn comes Ks. BB bets, 2off calls and I call.

River comes 2c. BB bets and I call.

I raise preflop against all but the tightest limpers.

PF I'd raise to try and isolate the limper. A raise will increase my chances of buying the btn and playing a heads up pot with position and the initiative (and probably a stronger hand against a player that I will often outplay after the flop). If someone from the blinds calls it's still a good spot to be in.

I guess I'm okay with the play after the flop although I'm not expecting to be good after calling the river. Knowing something about the opponent that's betting would help a lot.

I don't see much that you beat on that river the more I think about it. You lose to AK, KQ, KJ, split with KT, and is this player really raising with K9 or worse? You even lose to K8. You also lose to all pocket pairs JJ and above. I'd be very surprised to see tens or lower unless it's 88 and he flopped a set. If villain is bluffy I'd make a crying call but if it's a very passive player I'd seriously consider folding. I've never played the 8-16 at Commerce so I'm not sure how I'd feel about playing against an unknown villain in this spot.

I agree I should have raised pre flop, but in my experience the games are so loose that you still rate to be 3 or 4 handed as between one or two among the button, SB and BB will call as well as the limper.

The good news, you have a decent hand in probably a decent position and can act accordingly depending on where your opponents are and the texture of the flop.

Spoiler:
I won the pot as he had JT! Definitely taking notes on that guy

hi snap - welcome to the forum - please check out our FAQ if you haven't already - general guideline is to reply more in other folks' threads and not post too many of your own new ones at any given time.

from reading your threads/posts so far i think you could really stand to work on some fundamentals in your game, such as solid preflop play. good news: here is a good place to get help. the book 'small stakes holdem' is also worth a read/re-read

good luck
