Thought playing the board was good?

An EP raiser gets a bunch of callers including the subject of this post, an older, terrible player, nice person that he is. Flop comes w/e w/ 1. Somebody bets, some callers including Mr. Terrible. Turn and river run out 2 more 's, somebody bets, Terrible calls, bettor turns over a set, Terrible has the 73. 'The Set' goes off: How could you call, you had nothing, on and on, Terrible waits until 'The Set' stops and says: 'There were 16 bets in the pot so I saw another card.'

Spoiler:

I didn't think Terrible even knew what day it is.

Off to Vegas tomorrow. Staying at the Cosmopolitan - never even seen it but heard that it is pretty nice. I'll be playing at the B through Thursday ish.

That was gonna happen no matter what drug I take.

Not adderal. It's apparently a super hero drug for poker players

I'm surprised more poker players aren't into all this nootropic ****.

I'm was racked up to leave and got dealt JJ UTG and raise. Get a bunch of callers. Flop Q-J-3, I bet bec they expect me to, one caller, next raises, all fold, I call. Turn Q. I check, same caller checks, raiser bets, I c/r, person in the middle folds, raiser calls. River 7. I can't lose, amirite? I bet, other guy just calls, now I REALLY can't lose, I roll over the FH and get ready to be shoved the chips and the other guy shows me Q-7. Then, in his wisdom, says 'I thought he had to have Q-J.'

I love this game.

Three bet flop.
02-28-2016 , 02:32 AM
More players, yes, few players I like my line.
02-28-2016 , 12:17 PM
Yeah, why aren't you shoveling money on the flop?
02-28-2016 , 03:25 PM
Bec it's 100% certain that I can c/r the turn.

What if the turn was an A or K?

The action would freeze, the same if the turn was a T or J, or if the bettor decides to check for no reason. The line also prevents us from EVER three betting the turn, or on rare occasions 10 betting the flop against 33 or QJ

Other than than, ill give you that it's better than folding.

I have to agree with shovelling in money on the flop. Good chance they will put you on AA or KK and raise when they hit trips on the turn, plus it charges the most to straight draws. The best thing I can say about this line is that you lose the least when getting runner runner sucked out on.

Folding also loses less when sucked out

True, I hadn't considered that option. I guess as played didn't lose the least.

What a bunch of characters! It's 3 ways on the flop. You all can shovel money on the small street all you like but I'm waiting for the big street. And as to being worried about a scare card coming, meh, I've got enough to worry about in my life and I'm not going to worry about that.

Math: 1 extra BB on the turn = two small bets on the flop

For as much as I like the guy and always enjoy his stories, I gave up a year or two ago trying to give advice to Howard on poker. I advise the rest of you do the same.

How do you know it's only going to be 1? And how do you know the person being whipsawed in between us doesn't dump the hand?
