April showers and Austin Powers - (NC/LC Thread) April showers and Austin Powers - (NC/LC Thread)

Speaking of visiting the bay area I'm stuck at the SF airport 5 hours longer than I was supposed to...
Medical emergency on my incoming flight, kind of disturbing but not too bad.

Spoiler:
as soon as we got to cruising altitude a baby stopped breathing. The mom started screaming incoherently running up and down the isle. 2 nurses and a doc popped out of nowhere to help. Plane janked pretty hard to get us back to the airport. They revived the baby when they got her out of the plane but last I was told she was in critical condition. I probably won't hear any more.

Baby's father is an air traffic controller and was working when this went down. So he basically received the call that there was a medical emergency on the flight his wife and kid were on and had to get them in.

Do you have any experience with cashing out?

Any tips on what the "best" way is?

- Any fees for one type of transaction and not for another?
- Any length of time differences?
- Any method that avoids giving PS/FT a bank account number? (i.e., getting them to cut me a check mailed to my home address?)

When someone calls the club where I work the machine displays the business or name of the caller but only displays thirteen characters. So when Decisive Analytics called, it cut off the last five letters. Tee hee. The important thing is that it's decisive.

Sorry for another of my noob questions but here we go.

usually when get up to take a break I do it right b4 I have to post BB. If its a short break do you guys usually prefer to wait all the way until the blinds come back to you or you cool posting on the button or CO.

You're throwing half a small bet into the pot as dead money when you come back in the cutoff. The game has to be REALLY good for the five extra hands out of position that you get to play to be worth that.

Hope people took my advice and used their FTPs for tourney tickets, while you still could....

I've cashed out every way but wire transfer. I believe that wire xfer is the only way that has a fee, come to think of it.

When payment processing was working, echecks and wire xfer were both extremely fast. You could get 1-2 days at times, iirc. Checks were always a week or more for me. I never did a ton, and I only used paper checks when other payment processing was going bad so ymmv.

If they do checks, you can avoid giving away a bank number. I deposited using echecks, so they have mine already.

Plenty of people have started a poker-only bank accounts. Do it at a bank you've never done business. It might be convenient to keep this as your poker BR account, so you don't have bricks of 100's in your sock drawer. This separate account provides assurance to your wife that you aren't dipping into grocery money to go to the casino. I'd prefer not to keep the contents of this account secret for a number of reasons, but I'm a zealot in trying to be upfront.

I'd recommend echeck into poker only account. Paper check as second option.

Also, if you've never cashed out, you'll need to establish proof of residence for your account. This also verifies age. You'll need to e-mail support with a scan of a drivers license and a utility bill that match your name and address on the account.

Depending on the game, I don't mind buying the button. My preference is to wait a round because it forces me not to take a short break, and I end up getting a long one. My personal tendency is to not take enough breaks, so anything that helps with this is a bonus.

Yeah, I'm definitely opening a second bank account, not so much for the "prove to my wife" aspect but more for the "if the feds change their tune about withdrawals, I want absolutely zero chance that my real account gets seized, even temporarily" aspect.

I also like the clear aspect of my withdrawals and deposits to that account adding up with my reported wins/losses at the casino. I may have start a live-roll account at a local bank as my online money comes home. I'm not sure if the local casino even offers boxes, or if I'd be up there enough to justify one.
04-21-2011 , 12:56 PM
My primary motivation for having boxes/accounts at live casinos is to avoid having to carry lots of cash for multifuntic games. Not only is there the whole mugging aspect, but it's just inconvenient to carry in a wallet. The other day I walked out of Bay101 with a wad of loose fun tics in my pocket because I tried to put them in my wallet and my wallet wouldn't close. Mad baller, but annoying.

You realize that mad baller status is reached when they're folded, and then wrapped with a rubber band.

Keeping a good percentage of your winnings in bigger denomination chips at your main casino is an easy way to avoid this. If you play 20/40, bringing 4 $500 chips with you to the casino is pretty dang simple (and an efficient way to keep a stop loss if you so wish), both to grab at home and to quickly buy into a game. It is easier to cash out and ask for purple chips instead of them having to count out 20+ bills, and you doing the same to make sure they didn't accidently short you.

Alan is free-rolling for balling status because his vest has 10+ pockets. Talk about a real fist pump!

I pretty much officially have a rep as an action player now.

Nice_rack_charlie points to the open 6/12 seat, which is naturally to his right. Probably a good thing I am sick and have a lunch date with a blonde model/scientist or I would be feasted on by the very welcoming and hospitable players at the Oaks.

No, the vest I wear every day has only four pockets. Even my ranger vest, worn only for "special" occasions, has only eight pockets.

But your Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers suit, worn only for "very" special occasions, has 0 pockets.
