I think KTo was Korean Aces at the Commerce 20 back when I played there regularly.

One thing that always cracks me up in SoCal is when a non Korean wins a hand in the most maniacal way possible and the Koran player comments matter of factly: "wow, this guy plays Korean style"

Years back when they had a game I was playing 15-30 at Crystal Park and lost a hand to an asian guy and was staring at what he had trying to figure out how he could have possibly played so horribly when another asian piped up w/ 'You ran into a Korean w/ chips.' That line was worth half a small bet bec it cracks me up to this day.

Strat alert but never do this. Burn every detail into your memory for future analysis but at the table act nonchalant, like you've seen it before a million times.

Ha, I don't have to act, lol, and I have seen it a million times before. Have I ever related why I was once booted for 24 hours? I'd flopped top set and some fool went runner-runner, gut-shot, gut-shot to beat me. Everything would have been fine if he hadn't jumped up, ran around, fist pumped, the whole SHE-bang. So I started to lift the cards to my mouth to bite them in half. Dealer says 'Don't do it!' but I did it. The cards crumpled like confetti. Floor gets called, gives me the fish-eye squint, says don't come back for 24 hours, I tipped him a red bird for his trouble and left. Did me a favor, too, bec I was up 800 and was orbiting the Earth on super monkey tilt.

Did you donk the flop? Because if you did you deserved to lose the pot and the ban could have just been because of your bad play
06-02-2016 , 10:44 PM
What is it w/ you and betting the flop w/ a set? I think you're tickling me! IMR, I 3-bet pre w/ KK and the flop comes w/ a King and Ima fool everybody by checking.

Have I offered you a buffet dinner yet? Keep this up and you get soup crackers.

That particular floor man really looked the part. He was 60+ and old school to the point of wearing jacket/tie everyday unlike the others. You have to wait 30+ years to get the fish eye squint down to perfection like he did.

You can start practicing this one in the mirror:

Meh. I've never played poker with that guy but my squint is better. Mine lets you know how disappointed I am with you
06-03-2016 , 12:28 AM
Are you telling me that you never bet a flopped set first to act?
06-03-2016 , 12:35 AM
That's not what donking means...
06-03-2016 , 12:37 AM
There are many things I used to do until I learned not to.
06-03-2016 , 12:48 AM
someone really needs to make it clear for howard what donking is. it appears he's still not quite sure. i nominate zomg!
06-03-2016 , 01:44 AM
Apparently I am steeped in ignorance and also don't know how to play a flopped set. That's quite a leak.

Someone already did. It might even be in this thread. If not, it's the set donking thread.

However, this could be the greatest troll ever.

5-3 if we're talking actual height.

It was explained in the set donking POLL thread Howard created. It only took a dozen messages to realize ZOMG had wasted hundreds of hours explaining HB why not to donk sets for months. It turned out Howard didn't know what donking meant all that time.

Here's a bit of a hoot: At 8-16 the dealers aren't supposed to split a chip in a chopped pot (i.e. not supposed to split a $2 blue chip into 2 $1 whites) but have been doing it for years. When the 8-16 0E started up those players made some noises which resulted in the dealers not chopping the chip in that game. Fast forward to about a week ago when SOME dealers started not chopping the chip and some dealers did. I spoke to a manager and he said that the rule is in the book not to chop the chip and when I asked why he can't get them all on board he said they keep bringing it up at dealers meetings and somehow can't get the message across. Today 3/4 of the dealers chopped it and the rest not.

So that is why there is no Bravo system yet.

Not a waste imo. No one ever claimed it would be easy but someday we'll get him there. I don't care if I get demoted from buffet to soup crackers to the crumbs in the cracker package, we will eventually teach this old dog a new trick.

Teaching HB what donking means is the equivalent of a bracelet event in limit poker posting
06-04-2016 , 12:25 AM
I'm sure I explained it in an earlier post and thought he understood. Howard, did you forget already?
06-04-2016 , 12:36 AM
You did and he did
06-04-2016 , 12:43 AM
I had to look it up again.

So I got AA SB. Folded to button who limps, I raise, BB folds.

Flop: A-Q-2, I bet, button calls. Turn 4, I bet, button raises, I 3!, button 4! and I just know. River, x, I pay off the mighty 5-3o. Just kill me and make it quick.
