6/12 Who played it right or wrong? 6/12 Who played it right or wrong?

First of all, I've had people point at me, say, "You gotta play more than a hand an orbit if you wanna get action*," and then immediately cold call my UTG raise, so let's just dispense with the silly notion that you actually need to create some sort of illusion to convince people to do things they're going to do anyway. I approve of LAGTAG but in loose-passive games like 6/12, LAGTAG looks a lot more like TAG than LAG.

If you want to treat this as practice for 15/30, I don't mind (and honestly one of the main reasons I've always tried to meet 2p2ers is so that we can play srsbusiness at the 3/6-6/12 tables), but you've got to be sure that your opponent is treating it the same way. You can't think one-sided on this, and play him as if you were 5-handed at a 30/60 table when he's playing as if you were loose-passive at a FR 6/12 table. Only your bad opponents will play a set strategy with no regard to the venue they're in - if you really want to play a good opponent, you need to make sure you've both agreed you're both playing srsbusiness.

* Just to be clear, I do actually play more than a hand an orbit.

callip - unfortunately for me, I sit down and 3 players immediately pack up and switch tables. I opt for the high variance style of play, so fish win bigger pots when they suck out and stay around longer. You're also assuming that weaker players are still making fundamental mistakes; they are, but I want to encourage them to make MORE. Having the image of playing few hands is not AS profitable as having an image of possibly having anything and bluffing every pot. (I in practice bluff very little, since everyone always thinks I'm FOS). In addition to having ppl chasiing relentlessly, I'm trying to encourage them to play back at me, as it's not something most players are comfortable doing; that makes for great spots to pick off bluffs and make thin calldowns.

This hand's taken a bit out of the normal humdrum of playing 6/12. Here, I know my opponent is nitty and plays higher, so I thought i was an interesting spot. When the 6/12 game almost broke last night, we had 2 of the 15/30 players plus 1 prop moved to our table; at one point, we were playing 3 handed!!

Good 15/30 practice IMO.

P.S. Luckboxed it good right before I left. One limper, I raise JJ, spewy prop 3!'s BB, limper calls, I cap. Flop: 442 Capped on flop. Turn: 3 prop bets, limper tank-calls, I call. River: J Prop bets, limper folds, I raise, prop 3!s, I cap and beat out his AA. Finished up 6 racks
