I'm going to win 5 racks today, which will put me in the black for the month.

You aren't succumbing to the I-ran-super-hot-for-so-long-I-thought-it-was-normal-and-now-I-can't-handle-some-losing-sessions disorder, are you?

For you, I will share anything and answer any question. I graduated from Portland State with the standard "i-just-want-to-graduate-to-put-me-out-of-misery" degree in Social Science.

Now I actually want to go to school and get out of my mind-numbing job I only have for the full medical benefits (dental, medical, vision, sick/vacation time).

My life long passion, which is not poker, believe it or not is transportation. Specifically trains. I am a train geek through and through. So, I want a Masters in transportation and logistics. I have an IQ north of 150 and when I apply myself can crush whatever is in front of me.

Sorry, my phone died.

The last part is using the degree to become a dispatcher for a major Class I railroad, or an urban planner focused on green public transportation since I still love cycling and always will.

No, I'm going to run at 5BB/hr for eternity. I started a blog, in which I will rant about the characters who are going to slowly hand me the contents of their bank accounts.

To be fair Pid, swifttarrow went through the same experience. Ran like 4bb/100 for ages (@ Oaks 6/12). He then documented the downswong here in the nc/lc, and it was nasty all while lasting more than one session.

Imo- swift is damn good. Way better than I ever could be. He thinks about the game at a high-level. He just ran bad. He did dig himself out as I am sure you will too.

Keep your head up. Take a day off.

By the way, my favorite live move (apparently mostly from asians?) Is to cut out chips slowly, check, and fold. Optimally the chips are cut out for a raise

i have not seen/heard from swiftt for ages. is he still playing/posting somewhere?

I giggled way too much seeing "jesse9999" posting.

I don't talk about it. I got tested out of high school, took a comprehensive career assessment/aptitude test thing that took hours to complete from a guy who has done hundreds of them.

Anyway, I would be successful, thrive, enjoy and excel doing any of the following: dentist, surgeon, veterinarian, architect, actuary, engineer and a long list of others that I will add to once I get home.

To answer the obvious next question as to why I am none of those things at the moment- it mostly has to do with being a Euro-mutt (german, irish, italian and dutch) and loving alcohol more than school or being motivated.

Edit: FREE JESSE8888!

In support of my dear friend, jesse, and in modest protest of that Captain Ron fellow (I'm not even gonna abbreviate the "Captain" part), I'll be responding itt like this. And yes, I have a permission slip from the wife to do so.

The last time I heard from him was when he PM'd me asking me if I wanted to do lunch the following day. I said yes, and asked him to name a time and place.

Then, as far as I can tell, he stopped posting.

Sometimes I cry myself to sleep at night repeatedly whispering to myself that there's no correlation between the two.

When I'm Dictator of the World, you will have plenty of employment as my Master Plan involves completely carless urban areas.

So, OEC, what's your take on the California high-speed-rail project: Boon or boondoggle?

When I was playing a lot online, I even went so far as to have a separate account with a separate bank, which also came along with a separate credit card. This gave me the convenience of having all my poker money isolated. I can't really think of any cons other than it being a little more of a pain to take money out to pay life expenses.

Since this thread is being successfully derailed by none other than myself- I will quote/answer the above two questions in the nc/lc thread later this morning.

So let me get this straight...

CaptainR goes on downer and decides to get away from the forum and playing poker, to regroup. He self bans by going to the Ban Me thread in ATF. As a side note, anyone can PM me or BBB for the same if you want time off. Supposedly, CaptainR is taking a vacation from playing during this time. Then, at least his posting jones overcomes his vacation, and he brings out a 4 year old gimmick account to return to posting. I assume this means he's probably back to the 80 game, as well.

Jesse9999 arrives to post solidarity. Is this because the famous owner of this account is also not winning at poker? Is it anger at CaptainR for self banning? Or, is it disgust at the mod who agreed to help out the good captain with a self ban, knowing that the requester would quickly go back on his own request?

Then, out comes the account allegedly belonging to Mrs. Leo Doc. I've met her and consider her a wonderful person. She doesn't talk anything like that. The person who stole her account claims to have permission.

Do I have all this right? So. Do I ban Captain Ron for publicly circumventing CaptainR's ban, the Mrs Leo Doc account for being stolen, or both?

I'm thinking I should do this. As someone pointed out, maybe I should check the ATM limit.

More appropriate to occupy this thread with the answer. I think it should have been done 15 years ago when the economy was thriving and steel was cheaper. It will only get more expensive the longer the state waits to move forward with it. Airplane travel is in slow decay, traveling long distances via car is becoming unreasonable and semi-trucks are sooooo 2003. California has an opportunity to be the pioneer in US high-speed rail. Europe and Japan have proven that it can work and people are willing to pay to use it since it is routinely cheaper than flying.

The Northeast corridor utilizing high speed rail was a huge success. The same could be said of creating a connection between the Bay Area and the LA basin. The issue is the landscape. The types of trains they want to use have to either be elevated to avoid streets and grade crossings or underground to avoid that all together. Both could be cost prohibitive.

America is a gigantic geographic area, and rail travel was practically killed by personal automobiles and 18-wheelers. When oil was cheap it was great. Now companies are recognizing that railroads move more tonage more effeciently than any other mode of transportation.

As an aside- traveling via train is one of the safest modes of transportation. When there is a derailment or a driver is stupid enough to weave around the crossing signals to beat a train; injuries are minimal (except the driver in the above example). The same cannot be said when a plane falls out of the sky.

So Alan, that is the long way of saying it should be built. It will encounter resistance from all sorts of environmental groups, companies and NIMBY sorts. California needs to try.

Also- imagine playing at the Oaks, hearing Jesse9999 is at Bay 101, hoping on Bart to grind some 40/80 in the south bay only to get word that Leo Doc has shown up at the commerce with a bud heavy in hand. A few hours later, you are at the table with the legend himself.
