Loose local 10 game.

Villain 1(UTG this hand) is a regular. He's always weak, tends to be afraid of scare cards(won't bet a flush when the board pairs, and won't value bet when a flush card hits). He claims to be a big winner in the game, but he's breakeven at best. Currently I believe he's playing loose passive. Suited connectors, suited aces and pocket pairs are his UTG limping range. I would describe him as the guy who's tried to play well for a long time, but weak-tight is his normal game and probably the best he knows how to play.

Villain 2(CO this hand) has been described before. Loose aggro old man. He hates me and would love nothing more than to beat me in a hand. He's usually aggro preflop, peels very light on all streets and doesn't have much of a concept of relative hand values. His bets and checks tend to be random.

Ok, here's the hand. 10/20, 11 handed(gotta love local clubs).

UTG limps, another random limper, a few folds, CO raises, BTN calls, I call in BB with AJ, Limpers call.

Flop J42(12 SBs). I check, UTG checks, limper checks, CO bets, BTN raises, I 3 bet, UTG says "it's gonna get capped anyway" and caps, everyone calls.

Turn 3(14BBs) I check, UTG bets, CO calls, BTN folds, I call.

River J(17BBs) UTG says "$%^&" under his breath, I check, UTG checks, CO bets, I raise.

Good spot for this? comments on any street are appreciated. I do understand that UTG has a flush here nearly 100% of the time.

so a loose passive/weak tight player in a live poker game will cap a FD on the flop? not sure about that one.

what i AM sure about, is the fact that a loose passive/weak tight player will close to never fold a flush, even for 2 bets, in a 20bb pot. nice try, though.

put another way, what hands that make river boats are you c/c on the turn just because a 3rd spade came?

UTG's speech on the flop is a dead give-away. I'd call turn for nut flush outs, obv, but no way am I raising the river. UTG is MUBSing a full house, but he's not folding his flush.

You can't buy it for a river raise. Just call the river. You're likely beat; but, if not, get the overcall.

If I'm not raising, I'm folding.

While you say he won't value bet a flush on a paired board, have you EVER seen him fold a flush? (He would have told everyone) If you are HU vs Villian 2 I love your bet, flame the hatred but the presence of V1 kills your chances. Just fold.

I'm thinking these are the types to make a fold since they trying play right, and he won't be able to see how I could raise the river without a full house.

gross, fold imo. maybe i'm trying to save bets too much though, i could see calling and it would probably be mood-dependant for me honestly.
