When you use the Last X Hands filter, PT4 isn't able to give you cached data - this is going to result in PT4 calculating all of your stats on the fly, which in turn is going to necessitate a longer time loading up your data.

For those with smaller databases and/or more powerful machines this may not be an issue but it sounds like the calculation is taking quite some time on your setup. In this case what you might find works better for your situation is to use the Last X Weeks filter. This filter is compatible with the cache and the statistics will load just as quickly with this filter enabled as with no filter at all.

Depending on your game and stakes this could work out to be an improvement for you as well - it's unlikely for a player's playing style to radically shift over a short period of time, and if you haven't played with somebody in 6 months or more and only have a few hands of data on him that data may well be no longer relevant to his playing style. In the replayer of course you can turn this kind of filter off and compare to see whether the data is relevant or not and tweak your settings accordingly based on your postgame review.

Thanks kraada I'll try that. It's actually just for checking my own stats and my db is fairly small (30k hands), and my machine is good so wouldn't have thought there'd be that much of a lag.

The stats you choose to show on the table should be a matter of personal choice based on your workflow. PT4 contains a few default HUD Profiles for you to choose from, we advise starting with these HUDs and then if you feel you need immediate access at all times to a stat - then you can add it to your HUD profile on the table for all players or as a table average. Once again this is a very personal and complex question, the true answer is that it depends on your workflow and the parts of your game that you wish to review. PokerTracker 4 is a research tool, how you choose to research is up to you.

We can however advise the following:

1) The Stats > Overview > Group by Position report is the most useful report

2) The Filters can help you explore complex situations, the majority of your filter work will take place under the Actions and Opportunities filters, with some helpful filters such as Number of Players and position located under the Hand Details filters.

3) In any report you can select a range of hands, then right click and select Replay Hands. The Replayer has keyboard shortcuts available, they are found under the Options menu.

We also suggest signing up for a coaching site such as CardRunners that features PokerTracker 4 post-game review videos so you can watch how coaches review their sessions.

I switched to 2 weeks and it was almost exactly 10k hands and came up instantly. Problem solved

i just got an iMac today and downloaded the PT4 trial version. I can't seem to be able to customize which stat I want in my hud, Im stuck with the default ones. I already checked the tutorials, I'm stuck and can't find the "hud" in the main menu. all i see are "community" "play poker" and "view stats", I clicked everywhere still can't find where "hud" is

my pt4 hud has stopped popping up for certain games. for example it works in stars mtts/cash games, but not while playing spin and gos. then, on 888, it will work for cash games and not for tournaments. it still appears to be tracking my results in these games. what could the problem be?

Are you playing on PokerStars and 888 in English? Are the hand histories set to English format? Both the client and the hand histories must be set to English, if not what you are describing may occur.

Either you disabled the function in PT4, or the online poker room your playing at does not provide cards at showdown. Where are you playing?

I have pt4 installed on Mac and PS installed on Windows and I'm using parallels. And my problem is that everytime a have a new table I just need to restart auto import in order for pt4 to actually import hands and show the HUD. I've shared necessery folders so PT4 can actually read the folders where I save my HHs but it just doesn't start the autoimport. How can I fix this ?

#1 thing to include in all forums posts about PokerTracker, we need to know what network your playing at and also which tables/game type. Every network has different issues, any insight we could provide will not be accurate until we know where you are playing.

With that said, it sounds as if you misconfigured PT4 across OSX & Windows. Since this is such a personal situation, I suggest you visit our website and create a support ticket - providing very explicit details about how your working across the two OS platforms. Include details about how you are sharing folders, the paths for the folders, and also WHY you chose this option. Let us also know where PostgreSQL is stored, is it on both OSX and Windows or are you using PostgreSQL only on OSX across the network.

win2day is a skin on the GTECH [Boss Media] network. GTECH does not provide hole cards of your opponents at showdown, therefore the display of mucked cards cannot work in PT4.

You can save your color ranges as presets, but you must assign the preset manually to each stat.

I use the "my day start at" option so that it matches up with the poker site. has worked for months. recently it's making my reports a day off. all of my hands for friday are being reported as thursday. I didn't change a thing. Any easy solution im overlooking?

I use 9PM so that my new day starts at this time but apparently everything is still a day off. this doesn't make any logical sense.

1) What network are you playing at?

2) What are your network time settings?

3) What country and time zone are you located in?

4) Have you tried restarting your computer? If your traveling across time zones this could help.

havent traveled, was working just fine recently. I had it where 9pm on tracker matched up exactly with the new day @EDT site time. Now going past the 12 AM mark counts as the current day and the AM time sets are for yesterday. Very confused how this could be.
