I'm planning to purchase the upgrade to PT4 (I'm an existing PT3 user). I checked my account and see that I have a 70% discount. Will I still be able to use my PT3 if I purchase the PT4 upgrade today? The reason is my current PC will not be able to support PT4.

I'm planning to get a new PC in Dec so do I wait till then before upgrading to PT4 or can I upgrade to PT4 and get the new license and continue to use PT3 until December?

Hi, I got a icon problem with PT4... not a big issue obv, but I'm interested in why is this happening...

http://i.imgur.com/2VrdB.png

As you can see, PT4 icon disappeared... If I try to create a shortcut, the PT4 icon isn't available and I'm getting the standard windows no icon

Does anyone else have the error where "invalid pot size" comes up for about a third of the hands in FTP ring games? Just upgraded from PT3 to PT4 after seeing this come up in lots of hands (those which went post-flop) to try and stop the error, but now have the error in PT4 as well... Was wondering if it's just me, or if there's something in the software.

Have the same error as well. Gives wrong information about sessions also. In the official PT forums Kraada writes that they hope to get a new release (supporting FTP) out asap. Link to the thread: https://www.pokertracker.com/forums/...p?f=58&t=44601

You will still be able to use PT3 - they run alongside each other just fine. We wouldn't stop you using the software you purchased!
I'd suggest buying PT4 now to get the best deal - the upgrade discount will be reduced over time.

We will have an update in the next release to improve the icon used by PT4, which should address this problem.

Full Tilt have changed the format of their hand histories - we will be releasing an update to address these changes as soon as we've tested it successfully.

Bet Turn is literally just that, a count of the times that the player bet the turn, divided by the number of times that the player could have bet he turn * 100.

What you are describing above is called Probe. That is a mich easier term to place in the HUD than "opponent bet turn when you check flop", which takes up too much space; don't you agree?

Do you have any idea when the patch will be done. Like days, weeks or months?

Yes, this was a one time week long promotion that ended 9 days ago.

Today hopefully. There are many things besides FTP support that are included in the upcoming patch, we do not put out any releases until they have been fully tested.

I was going to buy this piece of software but I stopped doing it when I read this ---> each registration is valid for two computers
Each PokerTracker registration code is valid for installation on two computers at the same time.

This is a terrible deal for me because I'm constantly using virtual machines, formatting and buying new systems. What is the chance you could do it as table ninja does. What they do is to allow me to activate and deactivate computers. So basically if I get new system I just can deactivate my old system and Poker Tracker 4 will stop working there and I'll add my new system. I'll be always using the license at 1 computer. There is any possibility of changing this policy ?

fwiw - I recall having conversations with PT along these lines, which gave me the impression that you could do just that - de-reg a PC and then activate on a new one.

Obviously the line is what the PT crew say as opposed to a and other poster

I certainly had to do this myself a few years ago when upgrading machines.

It's important to me to know an official answer. Can't be buying something it's not going to last even 1 month.

Thank you very much for the quick response and fix.

I dl the latest release earlier but I have been waiting 2hours now for the database to update, is that normal?

Would make a lot of difference if you could see a progress/percentage bar or something to estimate how long it will take.

Mine took forever too, and I only have about 450k hands in the DB.

If you uninstall PT from a machine, that clears the slot in your registration code to be used elsewhere. As long as you aren't using lots of VMs concurrently you shouldn't have problems.

Were you updating from 4.04.1? If so that update can take a little while since there's a cache update that has to happen. Unfortunately there isn't an easy way for us to create that progress bar otherwise we would. How large is your database and what are the specs on your machine? As long as you're on a reasonably new machine and don't have millions of hands you're probably nearing the end of the update process.

I'm on an semi old MacBook using Parallels wich I know is pretty crappy...but dont think it took nearly as long dl PT3 or PT4 for the first time. I think I'm updating from 4.01.something. Just really draining watching the non-changing screen and not knowing if I'm waiting for 40minutes or 40hours.

...and as I rant the update has completed

Cheers.

1) Your processor should be ok, but it may not be
2) We advise 7200 RPM drives or faster, older Macbook pros have 5400 drives (you can replace the drive for faster performance)
3) Memory may be an issue
4) Ideally you should have PostgreSQL installed within OS X for optimal speed, if the SL server is installed in Windows you are running a server application within the VM's hard drive which will hurt performance.

Plus your running 4.0.1 which as Kradda pointed out requires cache updating. I sugest you take a break, walk away from the computer and comme back later when it is finished. We don't have a way to provide an accurate progress bar, too many variables to predict the time required unfortunately.
