Further questions re note tracker

Is it possible to display number of opportunities on rules, at the moment you get a number to say how many times the action happened but no info on number of opportunities

How do i define a weak or strong hand ie is there a quick way to define top pair or better or do i need to select every type of made hand better than top pair in the filters ?

Thanks

You can see your hands against a specific player in the Hero vs Villain report.

For blind battles filters in Player Position are what you want - in Hand Details -> Player Position -> Preflop you can specify your position and then add in Raise First In from Actions and Opportunities -> Preflop -> Raises. If you want to flip it around set your position to 8 (or BB) and make sure you face a steal (in A&O -> Preflop) and that the first raise came from the SB (in Player Position again).

In many cases opportunities won't make sense. For example say your note is how often someone check/raises on the turn with air. We don't know how often they have air and fold it to a bet - therefore we can't really say how often you had a chance to check/raise.

At the moment you need to manually select hands better than top pair there is no quick way of adding "or better" but I'll add it to my personal list to see if we can make something more feasible there.

Can someone pls explain the difference between the cold4b stat in HEM and the "open 4bet+" in PT4? I thought they would calculate the same thing, but I am getting very different numbers between the 2 trackers.

Thanks.

We cannot comment on HM2, but this is the definition for Open 4Bet + Preflop -

Percentage of the time that a player 4Bet or higher preflop given that it was his first preflop action and had a chance to do so.

Formula: Number of Times Player's First Preflop Action Was 4Bet or Higher / Number of Times Player Could Defend Against a 3Bet Without Acting Preflop

One thing to keep in mind, our stat is for 4Bets or greater, so if someone cold 5Bet it would be included.

Is there a way to track any bonuses that you earn? Rakeback, deposit bonuses, etc... I know the majority of these bonuses are not sent in files that can be automatically imported, but what about an option to manually add bonuses?

Not at this time because PokerTracker is designed to show hand and session based winnings. BUT this is on our agenda list for the big picture, it could be in 5 months, it could be in two years.... the time frame is impossible to predict, it all depends on the requests and need of users and how they are prioritized. For example, if someone plays on Party Poker chances are that person would consider support for the new FastForward games more important than tracking bonuses, but if you don't play on Party then you would probably disagree - it is our job to weigh these priorities to give the greatest number of players the new features they need as quickly as possible.

In the meantime you could fudge your results by adding in a fake hand vs a fake opponent to build in your bonuses. I've done this, it works well if you know how to build the hand properly.

Your ticket has arrived, it's sitting in the inbox of our head of quality assurance for further testing. We will get to it and figure out what's going on in these cases and get them fixed. In situations like this it can sometimes take a little longer to get back to you because we want to actually test out what you've sent us and, given the amount of added support requests we've had lately, we're still a bit swamped.

Thanks, this gets me half way there, unfortunately this report is not configurable using the usual right click method, and the included stats are pretty useless, is there a reason for this ?

I'm glad to hear it is on the Agenda. As for the timeline, that is understandable.

Thanks for the suggestion on the fake hand history, I'll give it a try.

This is the most database intensive report in PokerTracker, for most users it will take the longest to load and populate. For example, in a 8,800 player database with 800,000 hands it took 13 minutes to load in a cutting edge computer as it scours through gigabytes of information in the database - that is a very long time and a lot of data! This is a memory and disk intensive process because the data cannot be cached like we do for built in stats used in the HUD.

The heart of PokerTracker is designed around single player reports and hand reports (see each option for grouping in Reports as an example of the possibilities). PokerTracker is not designed to do extensive player vs player reporting due to the way stats are stored. When we created the Hero vs Villain report (which is an Active Player vs Opponents report technically speaking) we had to hard-code this report with results stats that are only available within this report to make it possible. If we added the commonly used playing stats that you are looking for, then the report would have become virtually unusable due to computer overhead. Software design is always a balance between user needs and reasonable expectations, you can see how hard the computer needs to work just to get the results data, your report would slow to a crawl if added commonly used stats as well.

Our recommendation: If you want to see the stats for any player you find in the Hero vs Villain report, you should instead use the Active Player chooser and then chose the applicable report for a total review of that opponents play, such as Statistics: Overview or Statistics: Holdem Hand Range Visualizer. That is how we designed PokerTracker 4 to be used, when you need to review an opponents play, just change the active player!

Yes, PokerTracker tracks rebuys correctly provided that this information is made available in the hand history. I recommend you enable Tournament Summaries as explained in this how-to guide for configuring PokerStars.

Ocasionally if there were changes to the hand history format made by PokerStars, you might come across a tournament where the rebuy was not automatically counted. If that happens, then please create a support ticket by following these instructions, and attach the hand history and summary for the tournament so we can investigate, and if necessary update the tournament detection engine. Good luck!

Is the HUD in PT4 (or 3 for that matter) able to filter for different SNG game types? I play 3 different SNG types at the same time (6max, 9max, Fifty50) and so do some of the other regs i play against. So i want to show only 6max stats in the 6max SNG and 9 in the 9, etc. Because the same player might be playing 30/25 (VPIP/PFR) in 6max but only 13/10 in F50 so i dnt want these stats to get mixed together. Not to be confused with filtering so the HUD changes when the amount of players at the table changes, thats not what im after and HM already has this.

This is a very good idea, but unfortunately it is not possible. PokerTracker often cannot determine what type of tournament you are playing until the tournament is complete. As the game advances and hand histories continue to improve, perhaps we will be able to support this concept someday - but right now it is not possible.

In the meantime you might want to try the trial to see what actually is in PokerTracker for tournament players, you might be surprised... our tournament detection is the best in the business.

^ maybe an option to show only stats u already have on the players from completed games. That way PT can filter for the correct stats but we just wont have in game updates, which imo is fine.

Unless you have an extremely large database none of the built-in player reports should take that long to load under normal conditions. Please report your problem so that we can work with you to establish the problem and get things working for you.
