But by all means, fix it at least for PT4.
I'll send an unsolicited +1 to your post. The wait for usable tourney HUD functionality in PT3 and PT4 would test the patience of Jobe.

I updated to 3.1311beta, and now no database info comes up..how do i do this?

Please start a new thread or open a support ticket on the PokerTracker website where we'll be able to go into much more detail with you.
Please tell us whether this was working before you updated, and what version you were using, exactly what errors you see, etc.

Hello, ive tried to buy PT4 twice this week (sunday and yesterday), typed my card numbers, then it asked me to send a ticket with name/tel which i did... Twice!
No one answered me or called me, is it normal such a delay to be able to buy PT4?

Please PM us ticket number, we have no record of any messages due to incomplete sales that are pending a response. We will look into the problem as soon as we can trace it back to you.

I just downloaded PT3 60 days trial. I've tried to use some customed hud profiles and I couldn't set them. Is this feature disabled in trial version?
10-13-2012 , 03:14 AM
If you were able to import the profile you should be able to use it. Did you import it as the same type as you are playing - cash or tournament?
Do you still see it listed when you open the Hud editor?
If you're playing the appropriate type then it should appear in the PT-icon menu in the Hud.

Hi, I'm trying to get PT3 to work on a Merge skin. I'm getting this error message during the hand auto-import: Merge: Unable to import hand (#6216117600593). Reason: Invalid limit (1/0//2012 NL)

Thanks for the help

Please update to v3.13.11 Beta, and if you still have problems then post in the forums on the PokerTracker website or open a support ticket there so that we can investigate further.

Hi, I use PT3 v3.13.11 beta.

Been having a few issues when I've tried to make changes to my HUD.

1. I can't seem to get the table avg stat to show even though I'm pretty sure I've got the settings correct for it to be appearing.

2. I've set a suffix for RFI to RF, but it still says RFI.

3. When I left-click on a players HUD and a new box with lots of information used to popup, like on the default mode, but for some reason that box has stopped popping up and I can't figure out why!?

I am going to PM you (PokerTracker) a link with a copy of my HUD so you can have a look and see what's up.
Also, I'm starting a session soon so if any of these issues are no longer present then I will let you know.

Cheers!

Hi,
recently when i try to select the holdem tab, and use filter i get a message that pokeertracker cannot conect to database and freezes and i have to close it down.
But if if i just stay in the import tab everything seems ok and hud launches.
Any idea whats happenning here.

Also i got pt3 at the start of this year through party points on partypoker;
what does this mean as regards upgrading to pt4.

It would be cool if we could sort hands by the amount of equity at stake as a tournament player. When trying to review hands and looking at the biggest winners and losers for the day, its often hard to find the really important hands between $5 and $150 tournaments.

Please open a support ticket on the PokerTracker website so that we can work with you directly to get this sorted out.

PT3 purchases through the PartyPoker store are not eligible for upgrade discounts unless you then bought the branding unlock (to allow you to use PT3 with any site). If you did that the discount is based on when you unlocked, and your personal discount will be shown when you add PT4 to the cart on our Purchase Page (when you're logged in to our website).

That isn't possible in PT3 as equities are not stored in the database.
It can be done in PT4 though.

I need help calculating the following values regarding the average all in EV of my played hands in these categories using a PT3 database:

1) Total hands played, including those folded preflop.
2) Total hands not folded preflop, as well as total hands folded preflop.
3) Total hands folded on flop, turn and river, as well as total hands that went to showdown.
4) Total hands won, as well as total hands lost.

I also need to know the average all-in EV of any two random pairs of opposing poker hands. I'm assuming that this constant is 50%, but need confirmation.

As explained by White Rider in the prior post, this is not possible in PokerTracker 3 because we do not store the All-in EV values. We do however store the All-In Equity and also Equity Adjusted Winnings values in PokerTracker 4, but you will not be able to accomplish your goal as described because All-In Equity (as well as All-In EV in PT3) requires there to be a point in the action where there are no bets remaining and the active player must get to showdown (on any street except the river where it cannot be calculated because there is no cards to come). For example, total hands played including those folded preflop would only show all-in equity adjusted results for hands where this could be calculated, you could in theory have a list of 100 hands but only show all-in equity adjusted results for 2 hands of the 100.

PS: We abandoned the term All-In EV in PokerTracker 4, it was a flawed concept that we wish to leave behind in PokerTracker 3. All-In Equity Adjusted Winnings is a far more accurate stat which also powers our Tournament overlay of Net Adjusted Winnings on the Personal Results graph. We use All-In Equity Adjusted Winnings in conjunction with ICM calculations to get the resulting graph.

PPS: You really should upgrade to PokerTracker 4 if you are doing any All-In Equity research, you will find it much more effective for your needs.

Thanks, Poker Tracker customer service. I don't have a regged version of PT3 and downloaded the trial just for the smaller footprint. If I download and install PT4 and purchase the small stakes Holdem option, do I need to uninstall the trial of PT3 and do something with my existing PT3 database before I install PT4?

Also, on the Poker Tracker website, is there a detailed explanation of the difference between all-in EV and all-in equity adjusted winnings? You seem to believe strongly in that change to the approach to analysis and I'd like to read your reasoning. Please provide a link.
10-17-2012 , 06:09 PM
PT4 has a conversion tool when you first start it up and it will get all of your data from your PT3 database that way. Once it's converted and you're happy with the conversion you can delete the PT3 database and uninstall PT3 and you'll be all set.

Unfortunately due to 2+2 policy we can't provide links in this thread but if you go to our website there is information on the documentation area about the terminology and there was also a good article written by Jeff Hwang not that long ago posted on our blog that you might find interesting which you can find with a quick google search for Jeff Hwang and EV (it's the third hit).
10-17-2012 , 06:59 PM
I read the Jeff Hwang article and it's pretty persuasive, but it talks only about why all in EV is not a reliable metric. It makes no effort to explain all in equity. I haven't been able to find a search function for the Poker Tracker website help files, and the help file categories don't tell me intuitively which help file I should look at in order to find information on all in equity, so maybe you could name the specific help file that explains it. I'll go see whether your forum has a search function to see if I can find any posts made on the subject of all in equity. Thanks very much for putting so much effort into assisting me on this.

I am not able to edit the above post but have found and read your website's information on all in equity. Further follow-up will be in the PT4 thread. Thank you again.

I can't seem to get the hands to import while playing on Intertops. The HUD also wont pop up. I am able to do a manual import, though. How do I fix this?

Hey, I just downloaded Poker Tracker 3 for mac yesterday and imported history today. However, there seems to be some mistakes. For example, I've never played a $55 buy-in sng but it says that I have and since I "lost" that one it completely messes up my winnings. I only play $1.50 and $3,50s.

Also, it says I've lost $600 in cash games, which I've barely played except for 2-3 times with about $2 each time.

Is that a known issue? Do you guys know a way of fixing that?

Hi. I uninstalled Pokertracker 3 on my computer a while ago, and recently reinstalled it. When I start it, I get the "Configure PostgresSQL Server" message. I have tried all the standard passwords, including "postgrespass" and "dbpass" to no avail. Additionally, I have gone into the Edit pg_hba.conf section of the configuration files and changed the bottom four lines to this:

Quote:
# TYPE DATABASE USER CIDR-ADDRESS METHOD

# IPv4 local connections:
host all all 127.0.0.1/32 trust
# IPv6 local connections:
host all all ::1/128 md5
in order to try to bypass the password. This did not work, and I still get the "Configure PostgresSQL Server" message when I start PT3. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

Edit: oh, shoot. I just read the rule that says not to post threads about PT or HEM. Sorry about that, guys. Go ahead and merge it with the other thread, please.

We intend to address this in PokerTracker 4, but we are no longer adding new features in PokerTracker 3 - we recommend upgrading to PokerTracker 4 to address all new changes made by poker rooms such as PokerStars' new run-it-twice option.

Please make sure you are running the latest beta of PokerTracker 3, if you are already using the latest version then read and follow this guide for importing on the Revolution Poker network. I suspect this will solve your issue, but if this does not help then please (1) verify that you are running the 2.x poker room client (we do not support 1.x), and (2) create a support ticket and attach your PT3 logs by following these instructions: https://www.pokertracker.com/guides/...g-a-bug-report

We can't say if this is a known issue or not because we would need more information, unfortunately a graph doesn't tell us anything... we need to see the actual hand histories and the tournament summaries for the problematic hands/tournaments to determine what may have gone wrong - or perhaps there is no problem at all, its possible that these tournaments actually exist but you did not play them (yes, we have actually seen this before and it is more common than you would assume). Once you have these problematic hands separated, please send them to us for evaluation by creating a support ticket as shown in the link below. Eventually you may have to purge these problem hands and then reimport them, but it is best to get some guidance from our support representative first after they see the problem hands.
