2. Is possible add a check action? I removed and cant add a check-check in limp pot and have to do the whole tree because i bad use the undo xD

3. How long time do u need for tree of 20gbs with a powerfull machine?
@1 All-ins are automatically added to your game tree in accordance with the all-in thresholds that you set. In your screenshot, you have set the all-in threshold for 'Flop OOP' to '1300'. This means that for any situation where a player is OOP on the flop, an all-in will automatically be added if it is less than a 1300% pot sized bet.

@2 Checks and folds are automatically generated, you can not manually add these. It is prudent to save your progress periodically, since the 'Undo' and 'Redo' function is unreliable. Instead of redoing the whole tree, perhaps you can just readd the limping situation.

@3 This depends on a lot of variables, but 20GB is not a very large tree, and a powerful machine should start to yield usable results within an hour.

When I click start nothing happens.
For 'Run to' set a whole number, such as 1. For 'Reset avg after', if you don't want to reset an average, set it to 0.

Can you explain how monker notation works for filing system....

0.0.0.0.0.0 -- hmm?

0.0.40050.40075.0.1.40070.1.3.0.0 --- no idea?

0.0.0.0.1 - pretty sure this means - UTG fold, MP fold, CO fold, BTN fold, SB limp

Thanks

For the purposes of solving hu preflop spots, how do Pio and Monker compare? If we assume they will both eventually converge towards an extremely similar equilibrium, is one more efficient with regards to RAM usage and solve time to solve similarly complex trees to a similar level of accuracy?

Let's say we have a budget of 100GB RAM or 200gb of RAM and 72 hours to research a specific preflop spot with the same bet sizes allowed. And let's assume that if either Pio or Monker were given 2 TB of RAM and a year to solve, they would both come up with basically the same solution (not sure if this is true, but let's assume they are). Over a 3 day run time and 100 or 200gb of RAM budget, which one would end up closer to the 2 TB 1 year benchmark solution?

I have both Pio and Monker and they obviously both have their place and focus on different things, I'm just wondering which is the more efficient program for the specific purpose of solving HU preflop spots.

Any help on what specs are required for both 6m plo and 9handed? Or what basic specs to start with for plo?

Thanks!

i ran a 25bb 8 handed tree at 58 iters for all positions active ep until bvb play. BVB results are like this

Then out of curiosity i have ep_btn play push fold, locked their rfi ranges so i will have removal calculated and i let the tree run to calculate bvb play. The results i got are significantly different

Could someone explain me why?

Thank you so much Asimov ! I read all the topic and the discord channel faq and you did a great work

@1 could u put your settings tree configuration that u considerer more accurate ?

Which is your opinion about Using one sizing(AUTO) instead of two sizings for postflop ?

I have a similar question for PLO. Why doesnt a say 10bb fr sim when folded to btn have ruffly the same raise\fold stats of just a three handed sim? My fr and three handed sims dont match even with same rake stacks and bet sizings. And it's not that they dont match its the fact that its significantly off say 7% for btn raise. And not in favor of removal of skewed amt of bad cards being folded in fr ahead of btn when it gets folded to him but it's the three handed sim that's actually raising more!

So question is why don't individual sims starting from game state 9,8,7,6,5,4,3 players mirror eachother more after a player folds and you load up say just 8max only sim or 6 player fold and you load up 3 max only sim off to the side.

removal shouldnt have as big of an impact I'm seeing in lnaddition to being opposite of logic

This is because of the removal effect

My trees are both 8 handed. First one has every banch active. Second one has only bvb branch active while the rest of the players have their rfi frq manually locked. Results should be the same but they arent

In your tree, you compare 8 handed to 3 handed. Results should be siginificantly different

Hello, I had a question. I am intending to complete preflop solves for PLO hi/lo six max, the computer I have currently has a Nvidia RTX 2080 super (not sure if that’s relevant) and currently has 32gb of RAM. I can increase this to 96gb if necessary. Will I be able to complete this solve at those levels or would I need a more advanced build? Is there a way to reduce the game tree to still give reasonable results or am I out of luck?

Hello,
I can get Monkersolver to open and login just fine, but as soon after that the program won't respond to any clicking. It doesn't even freeze, it just doesn't do anything when I click. I have plenty of RAM and just updated JAVA.

Depends on what you’re doing. Anything related to preflop with more than two people probably won’t even run

If you play no limit and have preflop solutions, your build should be okay for simplified post flop solves. If you do not have preflop solutions you will probably need to rent a server to finish them or buy the preflop solutions online. 6max preflop solutions can be found online in the $400-$700 range. If you post the specific tree you want built I can put it into monkersolver and give you an estimate of how much Ram would be required to run. monkerguy.com would be a great reference point for pricing on preflop solutions if you are interested in going that route.

I got estimates for renting servers with the required ram to run monkersolver preflop sims (500gb - 1tb of ram) and prices ranged around $1000+ per month. The feeling I got is it is more cost effective to purchase a refurbished server and try to sell it once you have completed the resource intensive sims.

Wannaplay, if you want my honest suggestion for a NL player, use the preflop ranges from your chosen provider (upswing, pokersnowie, etc) and plug those into the postflop spot you are trying to solve. Probably will get the job done for anyone playing low stakes to mid stakes, and will be way more cost efficient.

If multi-way pots/PLO/preflop solves are not absolutely mandatory, I would strongly consider using GTO+ or PIO rather than Monker. If your current build is all that is available, skip PLO solves entirely because even Monker will be useless without a better build due to the complexity of the game.

GL to you.

How is Monker handling nlh multiway solves ?

I wanna solve for common spots like Ep/MP open BU flat BB flat on different boards etc.

I have only 32g of ram but really fast system.

Would appreciate any kind of info regarding this matter.

i primarily play bigO split and hi live and have dabbled a little on phone with the "new" online games. have been out of online world for about a decade now.

i do well live but the online is crushing me so would like to improve both games in the end. really wish there were 5 card solvers but studying 4 sure can't hurt my game.

so monker viewer will only go up to 4 handed ranges? i was under impression that viewer had solves for all preflop scenarios but upon looking a little further it doesn't appear so.

ideally i would like preflop ranges for 5-8 handed hi and split. (probably contracted out unless can run a personal machine from below for a month or three to acquire)

then personal machine to run sims for postflop play.

thanks so much for input thus far.

EDIT: just noticed machines much cheaper than when i built my last 12yrs ago.

will do little more research and probably throw a grand at a server

MvN,

32gb is similar to my system so I can take a look at that tomorrow for you. I have a feeling it would be able to handle the simulation you described postflop as long as you can input ranges for preflop. 32gb is not going to give you a perfect solve preflop for the situation you describe.

Wannaplay, I have very limited experience playing PLO formats involving more than 4 cards, but what I can tell you is that adding in additional cards changes the game drastically. I would not use PLO4 advice for BigO, PLO6 games any more than I would use PLO4 advice for a standard no limit Holdem game. They’re just too different.

There is no commercially available software that can solve the games you are playing. I doubt there is even privately developed software for these games as the play in them is so weak there is no need for a “solver” type of approach. Nut-peddling with bigger-nut redraws is usually sufficient and the prevailing strategy.

Even if there was software available for PLO5+, it would require machines well beyond your current capabilities. We’re talking about literally 100s of times more RAM then you currently have available to you.

I kind of wish there were more experienced users available to answer these types of questions. I just got started with monkersolver myself and the community seems very unwilling to help players that have questions about how to use the software. Maybe it’s really that bad for the game? I’m not sure. Regardless, I’ll answer the questions I can. Maybe eventually someone that knows more than I do would be willing to step in and help answer questions for people that paid $600 for fairly complicated software that comes with next to no instructions on how to operate it.

super appreciate your input. monkers page is horrible especially for price as you say.

they are only one that ventures into omaha/8 though aren't they?

have debated on ways to improve my game... spending $$$ at training sites was leaning before exploring these solvers and now feel that they could be a perfect solution literally.

Wannaplay,

That is correct. No other solver I know will work on solving for PLO or PLO8 games.

Which training sites do you know of that look at your games? The content I’ve seen for PLO8 is over a decade old.

I'm having the same problem. I can get a small
HU range to load, but 6-way ranges won't load no matter what I do and I've used two separate computers. Has anyone got monkerviewer to work lately?
