There's a new version of the converter up - .37. It addresses some of the fold to BB walk issues, and tournament blind problems. I'll put it up as an auto update likely by tomorrow. You can get it from the website now though by clicking download.

Is there anything that can be done about the error rate of about 1/100 hands when importing into PT4? It's something I've just learned to deal with and isn't a huge problem but after a few months it adds up to like 1k hands that don't import. I heard someone say that the error hands still get imported, but lets say I import 1000 hands and the converter says 1k hands found, then I import to PT and it will say 990 hands 10 errors so it doesn't look to me like they are.

Does everyone else that uses this with PT4 have this issue?

The only error that there's been has been on some tournies with PT. But the hands still imported. That issue should have been resolved though. Have you tried version .37 yet?

I already wrote support, but I figured I'd let you know too. I'm having folded hands appear in the summary only for people who time out and fold or for people who sit in/out in the showdown section of the hand history. HEM2 won't import them because of the known hole cards.

This is in .35 and .37.

Also, if someone gets forced all in by an ante, those hands won't import into HEM2, but that doesn't happen much so it's not a big deal really.

Is there any way I can get the .33 version? That version worked a lot better for me.

FYI, just ran a few hands through version .37 and still get the invalid pot size error when BB walks and shows cards

i somehow managed to wipe out all of my hand history files

some are already in the database, but the ones i downloaded today are not.

is there some way to redownload those files from bovada?

any pointers will be appreciated.

Do you have known hole cards turned off on the converter? If so, then this would be a HM issue would it not? Maybe I'm not fully understanding, but I will look up the ticket. I assume this is tournament, since it's the only part that seems to be acting up apparently.

yikes... I don't think so. I don't think Bovada will let you even if you contact them. I'm not sure if you can maybe view them on Bovada and try and copy and paste them. I've honestly never looked at it.

Awesome... looks like Bovada is up to the old duplicate line hand thing again. What version of the converter are you running? When they did this the first time we fixed it several versions back.

Yeah, known hole cards is turned off, but some known hole cards are incorrectly appearing anyway. Right, these are tournament hands. 99%+ of hands import properly, it's just when somebody times out, their cards come up in the summary at the end. The same when the showdown info is being written and somebody sits in or out. HEM2 won't import them because of the folded hands being shown. Like if the button times out preflop and autofolds, it will still come up as "Dealer mucked [6h 8c]" or whatever at the end. If I delete the hole cards, it imports properly.

I switched back to the .33 version so I'm good with that but let me know if I can give any more info.

I'm running version 1.0.37. I tried converting with the duplicate lines, "Big Blind [ME] : Prize Cash [$4.50] " removed, but an error is still reported by the converter.

Gotcha, that makes sense. So this is only going to happen if you have above v. 8079 and known hole cards turned off. I'll let the developer know.

bovada will reset the downloads if you ask them so you can get your files back.

I'll have to look at it. Bovada had this issue awhile back. We fixed it. So I don't know if their doing it some other spot now.

I doubt they said ignore it, but regardless, it looks like you didn't switch your database setting in the converter when you imported into PT4. Make sure you convert the original hands with PT as your database setting. If you go back and forth between HM and PT without the proper conversion, you're going to get errors.

Keep in mind also, you're going to get an error in PT for partial hands sometimes. Bovada does this. I think we tried to weed those out, but I've seen some from time to time.

For the past few weeks I have been get the error below when I attempt to convert a folder using Bovada Hand Converter. I reported it to support, but they seem either unable to or unwilling to fix the problem. I was hoping that with the new version. 1.0.37 they would have fixed the problem, but nope. I am using Windows 8.1 The size of my files folders do not exceed 256. Nothing has changed, the program just broke one day. Does anyone else have this problem and know how to deal with it? Thanks.

oops, i mispoke, they said: "I wouldn't worry about it right now. PT did make some change, and we're going to address it in the next update. The hands will still import fine and should all be there."

i failed to do that once. the database is set to pt4.

i may have some of those.

i any case, this is not a big deal as i am able to import some hands and use leakbuster (nice tool!) , but it would be nice if it cleared up in the near future.

I just looked up your ticket. What was said is that it would be sent to the development team and that as a temp fix all you need to do is shorten your conversion folder by a couple of characters. That's what your error code says that you sent. Are you 100% positive that none of your folders exceed that, or for bovada? You can let them know as it will be helpful. The ticket is in their que.

I had two different developers convert your sample. Both had errors when the DB was set to HM and imported into PT. There were zero errors when it was set to PT and imported. I'm reading their notes as I'm typing. - Make sure to tell user that these errors only happen with HM is incorrectly selected. So are you 100% sure you didn't accidentally import the old HM ones, because you just said you did this once. Maybe you selected those same hands again on accident.

I ask because I've done this 100x on this thread, and out of those 100x it's always been this issue.

What version of DB are you using? This is crazy because that makes no sense why it would reject the hand. Can you send me one of those hands please (not the converted one)? I'll look at it.

On a side note, I need to start charging more for this thing. lol
