[HUD] Holdem Manager Support
hey i was on this a few days ago trying to fix my hem and you informed my data base was corrupt and had to export my hands and notes.
iv managed to export everthing and set up a new database, however im struggling to reimport everything back into the new database, my results have been wiped and i my hand history folder seems to be empty.
I am useless when it comes to doing stuff like this, help!

If you are still having discrepancies please try to detail them as best you can and send us the details with screen shots and copies of the problem hands. We can't fix it if without some help from the merge users to pinpoint and send us the problem hands. Please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to support@holdemmanager.com
Technically we don't support play money so if it imported some play money hands and actually is showing the results on your real money reports/graphs, please send us the original hand history files so we can try to make sure they are ignored in the future.

You should be able to manually delete the tournament.
Left-click the tournament entry in the top window of Tourney > Results > Dataview
In the lower hands window select the [x] All option, to load all the hands from the game.
Left-click one of the hands > right-click the same hand > delete all hands in list
Now you can right-click the tournament entry line in the upper window and choose > delete selected tournament.

The installer on our site is 1.11.05e but the update package is 1.11.05e-1. 1.11.06 should be released soon, I hope.
If it still don't work it may be an actual bug.

If the hands still aren't importing or giving errors, you may have a corrupt database.

HM moves all auto imported hands to an archive for performance reasons. Hands you have bulk imported using the import from folder/file options do not get archived.
Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere.
To verify the location: Options > Configure Auto Import Folders > Edit > Archive Folder: ___________________

If you play a site like stars/ftp you can email their support and ask for all your old hand histories and tourney histories/results.

To get all your missed hands imported
1) Right-Click your Desktop > New > Folder.
2) Go to your \HMArchive folder - To verify the path, go to Options > Configure Auto Import Folders > Edit > Archive Folder: _________.
3) Open that folder and copy the hands (folders of hands) you think it has missed. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31). Also get any hand files that are in your \poker site\hand history folder.
4) Paste them into your new desktop folder > HM > Import From Folder.
If they still wont show up your database may be corrupt:

fozzie -- Can you help me I'm FREAKING OUT.
HEM is not working for me suddenly on Rush on demand mtts. It works on cash and normal sngs, so I'm not sure wtf is the problem.
Interestingly (annoyingly), the HUD pops up and displays the right people each new hand. But the HUD states all people have 0 hands and therefore no stats are displayed. obviously this is wrong as i have stats on many of the players in the rush $4 on demand mtt.
My HEM on my new rig is less than 3 weeks old, so I believe I have the most recent version. I've tried to restart both HEM and FT. I've shut down and rebooted. That is the extent of my knowledge.
This is extremely frustrating, and I would be greatful for any help. I should note I tweaked my HUD yesterday, and that is what has been the impetus for the problems, perhaps? But all I did was change the font to make it smaller and also added "Call open" to the 2nd line under the name and # or hands. At least that's all I tried to do ...
Is there a way to reset all original HEM settings or something I could try w/o messing with my database??

Not sure how to ask this, but it's regarding pokerstars steps. Is there a way to stop these being tracked by HEM, or perhaps fix them? Since winnings are not monetary it throws my graph off, (also if you finish second - which is still a win in Steps) it shows you lose money. I'm not sure if this makes sense to you - but hopefully help if you can. Thanks

Bodog just released another update? Are you using .05w? You will need to talk to the developers of the bodog handgrabber, not us, to be sure the handgrabber supports the latest bodog upgrade. We do not provide support for their handgrabber.
If their handgrabber is working with the new update, but HM is not importing the grabbed hands, you will need to send us some of the captured hands to test. Please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to support@holdemmanager.com

The .05e-1 release still just says .05e at the top, I just wanted to be absolutely sure you were updated.

I think this is still on the programmers to do list, to make them import more accurately. If you want to be sure please send me some of the step hand history files and tournament summary files to support@holdemmanager.com

Now ive never been using HUD, but i wanted to try. If i would get my HUD to work, would i have to start over again with new hands? Or would it also use all the information of all my previous 400,000 hands?
And i dont really get how to start getting stats on my tables. Like, i know nothing. I specified what stats i want on the table and how many lines, and colours etc. But how do i get this to actually show up at my tables lol? When i just click 'launch hud' or something, i do get stats on my table, but everything is zero.

Once it is setup and auto-importing the Default HUD should show up. To get your new Config you created to work you need to set up the Use For tab for the HUD you want to use to Any Site, or your particular site.
The Default HUD should be set to a site you never play, and make sure none of the other layouts have conflicting rules. Any time HM isn't sure which HUD to use, it will revert to the Default HUD (even if it is set to a site you never play).

ok Fozzy here is my problem with merge. Here are some photos. Full tilt displays my hud the correct way and merge does not. Full tilt has the hud stats i want which is set on default for all sites the picture is also here of my HEM setting for hud and also the hud stats settings. Notice how i have selected to use these stats for any sites.

When I play on Full Tilt I can't see any of the TABS at all - just a blank area - the side menu is showing and can be changed. As soon as I close the tables and restart it will work. Just restarted about ten times while playing with no success - first start after closing RUSH tables and away it went. No scripts, Ninja etc running at all.
I play exclusively on FTP and noticed that my my MGR as calculated via HM is way off compared to the value I'm actually getting from my affiliate. Ever since the switch the WC rake, my MGR from my affiliate has been consistently lower (10-15% each month) than what is reported on HM. I haven't bought anything from the full tilt store or have other deductions that are subtracted from my MGR, and I have the newest HM update.

First time user of Hold em manager or any hud, so a few ridiculous questions.
How do I get the hud to appear on the poker stars tables? How do I check the stats for previous sessions, it keeps asking me to do for "select players"?
Any other tips?

HUD Options/Launch HUD with Auto Import
ok Fozzy here is my problem with merge. Here are some photos. Full tilt displays my hud the correct way and merge does not. Full tilt has the hud stats i want which is set on default for all sites the picture is also here of my HEM setting for hud and also the hud stats settings. Notice how i have selected to use these stats for any sites.
My default is for 5 lines in the hud and merge is the only site displaying it different which it is only displaying 3 lines as you can see in the picture and the font is also larger. Do you have any idea why this happens? Now it does this most the time but every now and then merge does display the hud correctly.

When I play on Full Tilt I can't see any of the TABS at all - just a blank area - the side menu is showing and can be changed. As soon as I close the tables and restart it will work. Just restarted about ten times while playing with no success - first start after closing RUSH tables and away it went. No scripts, Ninja etc running at all.

I would guess it is a corrupt config file. I just had a customer today, that I met last week, who could never see any data on the Players tab. After having him backup his old sql 8.2 DBs so we could reinstall everything, it seemed to work great, until we pasted his old config file into place. I assumed it was a DB issue but it ended up being a simple corrupt file.
0. Make sure you have installed the latest Beta version.
1. Note your database connection settings from the database management
2. Close holdemmanager
3. Go to the folder config in the holdemmanager installation path
4. Rename the file holdemmanager.config to holdemmanager.config.corrupt or sth. like that.
5. Under Vista make sure that UAC is switched off or check the administrator settings for holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and dbcontrolpanel.exe under properties->compatibility
6. Restart Holdemmanager
7. Holdemmanager reinstalls and displays some messages and warnings
7a. A new holdemmanager.config file is generated
8. Reconfigure your database connection
9. After successful start reconfigure your Auto-import settings
10. Table manager should start again.
If none of that helps, I would suggest a clean reinstall:

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and any other important files.
2) Uninstall HM with www.revouninstaller.com using the Deep setting. You do not need to uninstall PostgreSQL.
3) If given the option, on the 2 following screens of Revo, remove any registry entries and leftover files.
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloa...ager_Setup.exe.

You should un-check the PostgreSQL Option when running the combo installer.
6) Test if it for a while and see if it works

*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.

Make sure the hand histories and poker client are in English. Set your Windows Regional and Language Settings to English (US). Restart your PC.

Make sure you follow the directions exactly.
Pick the table name in the table finder window to highlight it
If you don't see a table name listed, please drag the red X to the table and click OK. Open the Table Finder again and the list should be populated with the table name now, so you can select it.
Left-click and drag the red X to that table window
Click OK

I'm using 1.11.05e. I'll try exporting/reimporting some hands into a new database and comparing to what I have now and see how it goes. Thanks.

If you buy it you dont need to download/install anything. You just have to enter your code to unlock the software. The only limitation of our trial is the 15 day time limit.
This is usually because the Use For tab is improperly configured for one or more of your HUD layouts and/or you are not selecting the proper HUD from the Choose Configuration: drop-down menu. The Default HUD should be set to a site you never play, and make sure none of the other layouts have conflicting rules. Any time HM isn't sure which HUD to use, it will revert to the Default HUD (even if it is set to a site you never play).

I started looking at the Table Scanner today for the first time. Is there an 'auto waitlist' feauture, where if a table meets my criteria, it has me join the waitlist automatically?
A question for Fozzy, or whatever computer geek would like to answer:
From time to time there are questions on these forums about how to handle database and other issues when playing on more than one computer. Is there any reason that we couldn't access postgres on a flash drive, so that it wouldn't matter which computer we were using?
For that matter, with cheap 2 terrabyte external drives on the way this year, couldn't you just put anything that you might possibly use for poker, including postgres, poker E-books, PokerStars (or whichever site or sites you use), tax records, etc., on the external drive? Then you could just connect the drive to whatever computer you are using at the time.
The external drive could be the main storage, and you could back everything up onto one of the computers, as well as online backup or whatever else you use.
