Never mind this was from stack builder I see I'm not supposed to use it anyway.

Please update to the latest beta - http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/HmBetaUpdate.exe

1) Clear your web cache, and download the beta update again, with another browser if possible.
2) Right-Click > Save Link As to save it to a different folder.
3) Reboot, and run the installer first thing.
4) Make sure the update is installing to the proper \holdem manager folder

If you still need help Please email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the www.Teamviewer.com Quick Support Module. It does not need to be installed, as it can run directly from your Desktop/Directory. Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.

Please update to the latest beta - http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=171

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=146
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=173
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, and export/import the hands from the old DB, and then delete the old DB. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm....aspx?faqid=21

If the problems persist Please email me at fozzy@holdemmanager.net so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the www.Teamviewer.com Quick Support Module. It does not need to be installed, as it can run directly from your Desktop/Directory. Please let me know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.

I now have the HEM notes on their own panel (which is better), but I just can't figure out a way to get them bigger/wider. Is there a way to get the hud to use the little notebook images instead of the smallicons.png file? I'm assuming I may be able to make those wider since each one is its own file, not sure though.
This would help alot as my sight is not that great.

I have no way to be sure, but I would expect the eSATA 7.2k drive to be faster. I would recommend you install 8.4 and try it. It is a relatively fast and easy process to try and check.

Install it to your laptop like normal, and then uninstall, move the \data folder to your external, and reinstall the software and point to the new \data location.

You may want to install it clean each time though, instead of moving the database. Then you can try importing to an empty DB on the laptop, and then try importing the same files to the new, empty DB on the external.

Please update to the latest beta - http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Vista: Turn off UAC - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm....aspx?faqid=73

Turn off Windows Firewall for installing HM and PostgreSQL. Once you get those installed you can add exceptions to the firewall. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=171

To move the DB to the external:

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) If you are moving the DB to a different drive/partition, manually cut or copy the \Postgresql\data directory to it's new location.
3) run the command - start > run > cmd >
[PHP]net user postgres /delete [/PHP]
4) reboot.
5) Install the same version of PostgreSQL as your current DB using these instructions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afm...aspx?faqid=177
6) If you have moved/installed your DB to a non-default location, please make sure to change the 'Data Directory' path during the installation.

If you are going to install it clean, the process is the same, except for the copy of the \data folder. If you are installing an empty DB to the external, manually create an empty folder path for \postgresql\8.4\data, and point the installer there so it creates the empty database there.

I have a big database.

Im gonna make and use a new one and dont use the big one anymore.

Would leaving that big database on my harddisk in my postgres directory effect the speed of HEM with the new database?

I don't believe so, no. I would recommend that you make sure to export that DB to text files and archive them, to be safe.

We are having server issues currently it seems. Email to support wont help you for this. I am unable to access the forums but have no issues using HM or accessing our main site.

As soon as I have more info I will post it here.

For color ranges? I am not sure if it is possible, as I have never tried. I can ask the hud developer, who is currently on vacation.

Follow the steps to register it again. It should just require you to follow the prompts and not input your info. If it needs your serial number and you have problems with it being accepted, try our registration site to reset your code:

*Please try using our registration system to register your current/new license. Then you will be able to retrieve or reset your own license, as needed. http://www.holdemmanager.net/Registration/

why doesnt this work.

i used to have my main alias and then all my screennames. but because i have lots of partypoker screennames i wanted to be able to see how i did on partypoker as a whole. so i created a partypoker alias, added the screennames, and then added the partypoker alias to my main alias, deleting the individual partypoker screennames that used to be attached to the main alias.

the results for my main alias now arent the same but it seems they should be. theyre missing the party results im pretty sure

An alias is meant to add site screen names to it. I dont believe you can add an alias to another alias.

well hem allows you to add it. it just doesnt work when u check reports. maybe u could incorporate this? seems easy given i odnt see why HEM shld distinguish a screenname and an alias - they both r just the sum of the hands played under them
