Ok. I wanted only ask could you answer to my other questions, like leaking the connections (is HM2 closing connestions with DB or DB crashes because of too many open connections?)?

edit: I was talking with guys in my learning group and everyone have the same issue - they have to close and run again HM after few (2-4) hours of session. If HM2 don't close old (unnecessary) connections maybe using pgBouncer is the troubleshoot (until you will change it in the soft)?

Yes. HM2 showed import errors for all the hands that was exported from Pokertracker 4 ( or 3 ).

They are all manually imported hands after sessions on a GTECH G2 (Boss) site. So no autohands folder exists and the original hands from the poker client in their history folder had been removed so I didn't have to import the same hands over and over.

So the only thing I have is the pokertracker database with all the information and the only way I know of to get the hands exported from there is in the resulting text files that HM2 could not read ( same error messages as number of hands ).

So just to repeat myself before searching all over the internet for hours: do you think there is a ( easy ) way to convert the text files to a readable form or import the whole database?

It sounds like PT4 does not export them in their native/original format so it is something they really need to address/improve. If you want to send us the hands as instructed via email we can write it up for the developers to look at it but if we can solve the import errors it won't be anything we address in the short term.

Please PM me your email and IP addresses if the following does not help, in addition to emailing the log file, so I can be sure you are not blocked on our server:


Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer 9 (even if you use a different web browser).

1) Open your Internet Explorer and go to Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections and click on "LAN-Settings" at the bottom.
2) Uncheck every box in the small new menu and click ok.
3) Try to register HM again.

If that doesn't work try to enable the [x] Auto-Detect option and try again.


If neither of those options worked, try the following steps for FireFox:

1) Open your Firefox > Options >Advanced > Network > Connection: Settings
2) Try [x] No Proxy.
3) Try to register HM again.
4) If that still fails try using [x] Auto-detect proxy
5) Try to register HM again.


If you are unable to start HM2 to enter the code:

- C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\ delete the HoldemManager.hml file.

My hud isnt updating stats for some players in an MTT on Carbon. Why? Some are updating but most arent. Ive restarted like 5 times now.

Hey fozzy71,

Can u pick one of below mobile processor that will have average performance for playing 6 zoom tables or 20+ MTT tables (ps+ftp) with HM2 (basic hud) without note caddy and some tabs in ghrome. The laptop will have ssd. Ofc the more the better but like in general.

Intel Core i5-4200M (2-Core, 2.50 - 3.10 GHz, 3MB Cache)
Intel Core i7-4500U (2-Core, 1.80 - 3.00 GHz, 4MB Cache)
Intel Core i7-4700MQ (4-Core, 2.40 - 3.40 GHz, 6MB Cache)

I updated hm2 and now the hotkeys isnt working on pokerstars and the hudstats are all over the place

The hotkey for Hm2 marking hands works but when I multi table with stacking and I use the hotkeys to mark the hand of the table on top, it sometimes marks another hand, probably (but not sure) the hand of the table that just asks for a decision but needs to wait for the top table decision to pop up (if this makes any sense?). So basically half of the time I have marked the wrong hands. Anything I can do about this?

Is this after a table change only?

Make sure the HUD Settings > General Settings > Common Settings > [ ] 'Use session stats' is disabled.

Make sure that the HUD Settings > General Settings > Common Settings > Min hands: is set to '0'.

Make sure that the HUD Settings > Stat Appearance > Min samples: is set to '0' for each and every stat in your HUD.

Make sure that your HUD Options > HUD Filters are all set to '2 to 10' and the HUD Options > Tournament Filters are all set to '1 to 81+'. Changing these filters to anything other than their default settings will make the HUD Stats change drastically based on the number of players at the table and/or their stack sizes in tournaments.

I don't really know a lot about hardware myself other than the very basics. We recommend an i5 or i7 so I would assume any of those should be fine but obviously the faster and more cores it has the better so I would go for the quad core if you can afford the extra cost.

For the hotkeys issue:

Make sure HM2 and Pokerstars are both still set to run as admin. This is the most common cause of stars' hotkeys not working.

- Please close HM2 and Poker Stars.
- Go to C:\Program Files\PokerStars (Program Files (x86) for the 64bit version)
- Right click the PokerStars.exe and choose “Properties”.
- Go to the Compatibility Tab and select “Run this program as an Administrator”. If this option is greyed out it is because the UAC is disabled and you are already running as admin so there is no need to change anything.
- Please repeat steps 1-3 for PokerStarsUpdate.exe, holdemmanager.exe, hudfuncsapp.exe and all of the easyhook, blitz.dll files and the stars/stars inject files in C:\Program Files\Holdem Manager 2 (Program Files (x86) for the 64bit version) although holdemmanager.exe should already be set to run as admin by default.


For the HUD position issues:

1) Export any custom HUD configs.
2) Open the HM2 > HUD Settings > HUD Designer menu > Click 'Reset' > [x] Panel Positions > OK

1) Open one Table, play at least one hand.
2) Move the stats with the Arrow Buttons (< >) on the Table Averages HUD to rotate your HUD where it belongs.
3) Now you can open further tables but you will always have to play at least one hand for the stats to be moved to the correct positions.

Unfortunately there is not a lot we can do in this situation if your assumption is correct. Hotkey marking of hands is a tricky task. We have suggested to our developers the possibility of adding some sort of indicator in the table HUD to help ensure you are marking the right hand but this is not something easy to do so I am not sure if/when it may happen. We are also discussing the possibility of extending the hotkey functionality to the reports and handviewer so you can pick the hand in the reports (or active session) or open the hand in the hand viewer from the table HUD and click a hotkey to mark it but that has not been presented to the developers yet.

What you may want to do is to add the Settings > Hands View Columns > Columns Available > HandMarking to the Columns Included. You will then be able to see the Markings column in the Active Session and Reports hands data grid. Then if you were to mark the current hand you should be able to see in the Active Session tab or Sessions report once it has refreshed if you marked the proper hand or determine which hand from which table is being incorrectly marked.

I just want to point out again how frustrating it is that under "advanced action>preflop" there is no fold option. I realize that there may be a workaround with vpip or something, but having to rack my brain to figure it out every time is like a logic puzzle. Why not just be able to select "hero folds preflop"?

We are going to write up this request to see if the devs can add that filter to the Other Advanced Filters section so we don't have to clutter up the Action filters more. Once we write it up I will PM you the info so you can email to have your email added to the ticket for notification when implemented.

For now you will need to try this combination of filters I suggested back in March which I hope works to do what you want:

I uninstalled HEM 6 times and it still wont update my hud when im in a MTT and it wont even show me some hands of players I got. It says I hve 130 hands on a guy and it shows nothing. :|

un/re installing won't usually fix these type of errors. They are typically configuration errors.

Make sure the poker client and hand histories are both in English. If it is not, you need to change it in the Lobby Options or reinstall the software and choose English.

This has to be on your end cause not only does it not work on my pc, but it doesnt work on my laptop either.

What are the odds of that?

If it were on our end there would be many others in this thread complaining of this problem and our forums/emails would be flooded with complaints. This is not the case so it is likely something on your end.

What exactly didn't work? I have not heard of any problems with the uploading of files or sending of priority support answers/messages. We get plenty of these in our inbox each day along with messages of every successful support tool use so we can gauge how successful the tool is.
