Why do the dumpster people talk like cavemen? Hasn't it only been a couple of years since the ZA? Did these people lose the ability to speak English while living in the dump?

between their vocabulary, the odd uniforms, and the fact they all look like Muuns from Star Wars, the whole thing reaked of a tribe description that somebody wrote for Mad Max but it ended up in The Walking Dead

it might make sense if we find out they were a cult and weird pre ZA, but there is zero chance the writers give a good explanation for why they are the way they are. They are the new Wolves.

The sea world/see world was great, reminded me of arrested development but with a bit more of exposition.

It would be great if this thread turned into a discussion of the Office instead

But the leader seems to transition from cave-speak to normal English. Her first words to Rick, "We own your lives. Want to buy them back?" is normal enough; if she wanted to remain consistent it would sound more like, "Want to buy back?"

I'm betting there's an extremely enthralling backstory about how they became like this.

They lived through hardship of eating garbage for several years that affected their ability to speak. Then they reinvented fire by random course of events and started grilling fattened possoms for some proper nutrition and they learned how to speak again.

The philosophy of "we take, we don't bother" seems a bit inconsistent with breaking into Alexandria, stealing all the food, and kidnapping Gabriel IMO

AFAICT they live inside the junkyard. I'd be skeptical of anything they do that is normal.

So stupid. Like it's 2 years or whatever for everybody else, but these bowl cut gooners are all 4th generation post apocalypse.

Hard to believe these people have avoided detection by the saviors. I mean that's a lot of mouths to scavenge for. They'd be casting a wider and wider net every week (and we know the saviors have the roads locked down, there is literally no escape from the spectre of their road blocks) They take and not bother by stalking, watching someone take and not bother, follow home, take, and kidnap, and bother, and throw to buggabugga, and threaten to bother if deadline isn't met.

Lol at the convoluted plan of setting up Carol to get his guys in the war. Who writes this trash?

Hey, have you guys ever wanted to know more about Dwight's backstory? Have you been frustrated that there hasn't yet been an ep centering almost entirely around Negan and Eugene? Tonight's ep has you covered!

Dwight enthusiasts,

Why did he set up the doctor? Did the doctor say/do something to him, or was that just to remove suspicion from him?

if I were captured by Neegan, I'd definitely play it like Eugene is. Just tell Neegan what he wants to hear, don't make waves, and you might actually get a pretty good life for the zombie apocalypse.

Neegan has to be the stupidest, most ridiculous character on TV.

Actually, Dwight is one of the few characters on this stupid show who has had an arc, and who has suffered something relatable and interesting. So while I do think it's funny they wasted an episode on him, Dwight has been relatively interesting.

I'll go with Dwight knew Negan would make an example of somebody so he cast the blame on the Doc. What I don't get is why on earth Negan would believe the Doc did it or why Dwight thought he'd be a good scapegoat.
