Really enjoyed this episode: The writing and acting were superb. Season delivering so far.

All the obese people were eaten completely by the walkers because a) they couldn't easily run away after being bitten, and b) the fattiest cuts of meat are the most tasty.

The Eastman character had a sense of humor, which is sadly a rarity for this show.

In a vacuum I liked the episode...R.I.P. Tabitha...but as far as how it flows with the story thus far 90 minutes was way too long.

Next week to further save on production costs, 90 min flashback to Carl and Enid stuck in the tree.

never understood the obsession with Morgan. When he disappeared from being in 1 or 2 season 1 episodes, people talked about him every week. And every time they teased him it was like friggin Thanos in a Marvel movie. Everyone went nuts about it.

that episode was 90 minutes and about 15 were intriguing and that was only because of John Carrol Lynch (that's his name right?)

Yeah, I mean he's a good actor and all, esp for this show, but this arch sucks, and no mad/sad/crazy face acting by the legend known as Morgan is gonna change that. I shant kill an insane cannibal hacking at me with a machete. Solid, really solid and original. Maybe next week the cast can bemoan having to steal cans of corn from an dead old lady's cabinet. What have we become?

I didn't like it either.

Cliche of the zen, vegetarian, goat cheese maker, Art of Peace reader, aikido master guy, who's virtuously seen practicing with his stick in the middle of nature, and makes a grave for EVERY zombie he kills.

And he died in a silly zombie version of you're-gonna-get-hit-by-a-car-so-I'll-push-you-away-and-weirdly-get-hit/bit-myself.

I want action, I'm not invested in any character to care about their freaking out, or what makes them tick.

Liked it.

Nit Pick: Tyrone leaves his circle of spears for a long time to go hang out with this while balding actor you guys like, he's gone for a while, possibly weeks, yet when he returns with baldy there are no zombies impaled on the spikes. However, as soon as they return to his sacred circle of spikes, within moments a zombie appears.

welcome to TWD

not sure how I felt about this one. The fat white peaceful guy was awesome, would have loved for him to become a regular. His death scene was horrifically dumb though, in a way only TWD can pull off. And the 'all life is precious' thing is great and all in a normal society, but Morgan man, we're living in the freaking zombie apocalypse. NOT killing people who are hacking women and childrens limbs off is just ******ed. Kinda hope Morgan dies now to be honest.

Ya, I didn't like the episode much either. It was so annoying every time he screamed "kill me!".

That type of episode could essentially almost be a feature length movie. You've got a bit over an hour of screen time to make an epic little zombie movie that doesn't need to have anything to do with the current storyline. Instead of making something super bad ass where everyone dies in the end except for him... we got this boring story of a guy and a goat.

re: Rick's hand being cut and relation to the comics:

nothing too too spoilery, but if you don't know what happens to rick in the comics and don't want to know, i spoiler tagged it...

Spoiler:
You know, it’s so funny... The whole Rick losing his hand conversation, [Andrew Lincoln] has told me a thousand times, “Listen, let’s just chop it off. I don’t know why he has a hand. I think it would be great.” I don’t think there was ever a time where we didn’t do it because we didn’t think it wouldn’t be great for his character but unlike Hershel’s leg where we were able to shoot long dialogue scenes between Hershel and Glenn and we didn’t have to worry about the visual effects of digitally removing his foot in every shot. With Merle, I designed this cool arm specifically to hide his stump. What we ended up doing was we did one shot where he took it off and showed the stump to Andrea and then he slid it back on. I think it would be very challenging indeed to try to deal with removing Rick’s hand from a technical standpoint.

I liked how a guy that built a cabin in the middle of the woods decided to spend his time digging graves and making cheese rather than building up some defenses against zombies.

like how an insane Morgan did in the same exact episode

If only the writers had the same attention to detail that you do.
