Doesn't that make sense giving it gets good ratings + so many things doing bad on Fox?

Yeah, just funny how fast Fox is going away from Reilly's plan. His shorter seasons/no pilot season strategy was going to be interesting to watch.

With the network struggling they can just blame him for the poor numbers for awhile.

The short season arguably hurt Sleepy Hollow (it's also possible that someone asked Reilly what he was thinking, since the entire goal of most shows is to get to syndication). I think that show left people wanting more, and it's hard to pick back up with a show nearly a year later. Even cable doesn't want to give full seasons and then a year wait. They like to break stuff into halves or even thirds.

Lost in the shuffle is that Resurrection (a mid-season ratings success last season that got off to a good ratings start this season) took a giant dump last night. It went from a 2.5 (2nd season premiere) to a 2.0 (second) to a 1.4 (third). It's gone from solid renewal to likely cancellation just like that. People must not have liked whatever direction it's going. I've had the first season piled up on my DVR for awhile, but doubt I'll have much interest in catching up on it.

The Voice continuing to prop other shows up. Impressive stuff from The Flash.

I just received this from NAB (National Association of Broadcasters). Would any of you pay for this access?

CBS plans to offer a digital video on demand service that will cost $5.99 a month. CBS All Access will feature full seasons of current and archival series, as well as late-night, daytime and local content from stations in New York, Los Angeles and a dozen other markets.

If there's something with several episodes I wanna watch I'd consider but I'd always cancel once caught up.

I can't even think of enough CBS shows throughout their history that would make me consider doing that. For the Big-4, NBC possibly, but even then I'm not sure.

CBS has a lot of great shows in TV history (Twilight Zone was theirs), so it really depends on exactly how far back (and how extensive they will let it be) in their archive they're willing to go. If they're talking the entire CBS archive, then there's no way it wouldn't be worth it (getting to see the full runs of shows like The Equalizer would be worth it) for people who are into classic or older TV. But, knowing CBS, they probably just mean of the last 10 years.

The interesting thing is that they have barely let any of their shows out in any way except purchasing them out right or seeing them live, so there is a huge amount of content that people missed (if it's not in syndication) that isn't available cheaply or free. There's a value there, but I'd need to see how much content there is before making that decision.

Looks like it lists all the shows they will have. Says over 6500 episodes.

Yeah, that's barely anything, and interestingly a lot of those shows are NBC shows. They got some of their biggest old shows in there, but it is really really lacking from the CBS library. I think you can also see most of that stuff on Netflix. So far, it's no value.

Lots of the old classics:
Cheers, Taxi, Macgyver, Original Hawaii five-0, Frasier, Brady Bunch, Star Trek.

I don't think any of those aren't available in syndication somewhere (outside of maybe MacGyver), and several of them aren't originally CBS shows. Hawaii Five-O has been on in syndication every day for at least the last 4 or 5 years on MeTV. Brady Bunch is on somewhere, but I can't tell you where. I haven't done a check, but I know Cheers is available on Netlix, and Frasier probably is too. Part of what makes a good value out of this would be that it's a bunch of shows that aren't available in syndication or on other services. A couple of examples that would make it hard to pass up are The Equalizer and Trapper John, M.D. This is probably the only place you can watch all of the episodes of Perry Mason, but that show hasn't left syndication in my lifetime.

Revised adjustments for the Nielsen "scandal" have started rolling in, and it appears the impact is typically .1 on affected shows. ABC has had a lot of shows affected, and all the adjustments have been down .1. CBS also was affected on one day, and all of their adjustments were up .1. It appears to have affected the Nielsen viewers with the worst tastes in TV.

Classic Late Show episodes might be fun for a few weeks. Nothing like vintage Joey Buttafuoco jokes! Looks like they're only offering the current season though.

I signed up for cbs all access because I want to watch old survivor seasons (I just got into Survivor 2 seasons ago).

So i signed up and put on a random survivor and I'm watching commercials? wtf? they can't actually expect us to pay for commercials, right?

That's ridiculous. Hulu+ shouldn't have commercials, or at least that's what I heard. Is that not true?

Why are there ads in Hulu Plus?
Summary
Hulu Plus includes advertisements in order to reduce the monthly subscription price of the service.
Premium content — especially from the current TV season — is not only expensive to make and license, but we also want to compensate our content partners fairly for the valuable entertainment they provide.

Hulu Plus offers what no other streaming content service on the market today can: current season episodes of popular shows like Glee, Community, and Modern Family, and full series runs (all episodes from every season) of popular library shows. To see a full list please go to Hulu Plus Content page.

We have found that by including a modest ad load, we can keep the price for Hulu Plus under eight bucks, while still providing users with access to the most popular current season shows on the devices of their choice.

We're continually working to tailor the ad experience to your interests in an effort to make the advertising you see on Hulu Plus more relevant and useful to you.

So, any day now Netflix and Amazon Prime will start inserting commercials into the shows we pay for? I'm not paying a monthly fee to watch commercials I can't skip. LOL Hulu, the racket of the movie industry that failed.
