Even though season 9's winner is no doubt a strong chef, I never really enjoyed his eponymous restaurant as much as much as I enjoyed his previous restaurant of employment.
Man I was hoping she'd carry near the bottom and survive for 5 or 6 more people for the fun. Now only Venice Beach douche chef is there to root against. I'd guess he would survive to final 6 or so but he seems to like to take charge and fare poorly despite thinking his food is coming out great. He'll probably go soon too.

She did win Last Chance Kitchen! (Where she also seemed noticeably less salty.)
Phillip might be the most delusional chef to ever enter TCK. Nothing he makes ever turns out good, and his go-to dishes all have done poorly. I totally hope he luckboxes a top 4 finish.

I wouldn't be surprised if he goes on a heater now

I would.
Enjoying this season overall. Seems like the annoying people that need to go are in fact leaving (aside from Phillip). Remaining chefs are pretty likable too.
Starting to think Marjorie is the frontrunner. Her champagne trick to free up the tables during service might be the savviest on-the-fly thing I've seen on Top Chef.
A little annoying to have an episode without an elimination, but I think giving restaurant wars the extra time is worth it.
