Yeah I didn't notice it until I rewatched the episode. No clue what it is, but Sepinwall says we'll find out soon.

I would assume it has to do with the challenge made to the bad guy in the pilot. Bad guy sent a minion to hero's home for some nefarious reason.

I don't know about that... his ex wife's current husband seemed to know about it (mentioned it was happening when they were together too) and he mentioned hearing it before and stopped before he said too much. I'm pretty sure he has something to do with it/knows something about it, and that he may have been gettin' it on with the ex-wife before they broke it off.

Hmm, that's a very good point. When the 3 of them (Hank, ex-wife and her fiance) were having takeout, there was the noise above them dismissed as 'Old house settling, does that some time'....

I took the fiance stopping before he said too much to be, not so much that he knew something more about the noise, but more that he just revealed that he was around the house more than Hank had known.

Yea, that was the weirdest, random ending to an episode of TV ever. Cool though.

Really like this show, too bad the people itt are seemingly the only ones watching it

After premiering badly, then falling in its second week, Terriers fell again to a mere 0.2 adults 18-49 rating and less than 600,000 viewers (last week a 0.4 with adults 18-49). A lot of people are chalking its poor showing up to being badly named. That might account for a poor sampling, but consecutive weekly drops?

Tosh.0 was up 0.2 and its 1.4 adults 18-49 rating led the cable night. In total viewers Tosh.0 scored 2.225 million.
I don't think FX ever cancels shows mid season though, right? So we should be good for like 9 more eps or whatever.

F/X usually seems like they give poorly rated shows a chance to catch on. I'm not worried about a mid-season cancellation, but I do hope ratings pick up enough to justify coming back. (I think critical word will help somewhat mitigate the ratings.)

I hope they don't cancel it I really like it hopefully the check the DVR/Tivo ratings and see people are DVRing it, or at least give it a chance to catch on.

btw, was so distracted by the dark figure going into the attic and the depressing ratings that I forgot to mention my fav part of the episode: In the open when Britt was needling Hank by making him think his ex's fiance was hung. That was amazing.

good episode. The two leads are so damn likable. The guy from True Blood in particular i think is pretty good.

Just discovered the show the other day and largely gave it a watch due to liking both the actors, so far i like it. Btw i was only half watching the guitar scene at the end and glanced back and saw some legs going into the roof and had to skip it back to see what that was. Very very cool and i didnt twig on the fiance playing the noise off from earlier.

The show really does have a terrible terrible title, competing with Happy Town for worst named show this year and hopefully not following its fate of being cancelled due to crappy figures attributed to the random name.

Best episode so far. The ending was bizarre though.

The more I think about it the more I think the ex-wifes boyfriend is somehow involved. His whole idenity theft story seemed awkward and hokey. He also had an answer when they heard the noises. He is an architect supposedly and he previously checked the noises out claiming they were a roof problem. No matter what it is at this point seems very bizarre.

It was a great hook though because now I can't wait to watch the next episode.

I'm trying to like this show, but I'm having trouble getting into it. Seems like another spin on crime drama. I don't know what you'd call it, but crime shows are so overdone that it has to be REALLY good for me to really stick with them, like Castle.

I haven't seen the newest episode because I just started watching them on Hulu last night.

The biggest thing I like about the show so far is that it is filmed in San Diego so I watch to see if I recognize anything from the short time that I spent out there.

Remember, that Hank stole his wallet and returned it earlier in the episode after making an etching of his cc. Hank is responsible for the identity theft. The fiance even mentions that he hasn't had his wallet stolen (as far as he knows).

I agree with the rest of your post.

How did you guys not see the guy climb into the attic on a first viewing? It was filmed in a way that you couldn't miss it.

Anyway, when I saw it, I immediately thought that it was understood that the guy was phrogging.

Was this not the case?

It would be a real shame if this show got cancelled. More than a shame, actually. It's one of the best shows to come out in a while.

I don't understand the name hate, in fact, I kind of like it. What else should it be called?

I expect it is something deeper than that.

Does the name actually mean something? Am i missing something?

Terriers are a loud, annoying, small-but-relentless type of dog. Since this is a pretty good description of the two main characters, I figured that's what it means, and kind of like it.

Not sure. I was wondering the same thing. I just hope it doesn't start to get to serious and start straying away from the comedy aspect of the show.

Don't know why the apprehension, I thought that was fantastic.

Loved how the sister was setup from the milk carton in ep 1, scene 1, which also played well not as foreshadowing but on its own.

Ep was very very strong. I wonder if anyone else saw it? lol
