Really wanted a season of winners vs runner ups or something.

Not a terrible season, but not very good either IMO.

Season 31 is gonna be drug addicts vs alcoholics vs gambling addicts.

Just one time I'd like survivor to a season with no jury.

Bring back some of the best players and see who can best manage strategy changes when the only goal is to be the last person in the game.

How do you determine the winner?

While it wasn't exactly clear to me what went down, I think she narrated something to the effect of "this is the same clue that everyone else got". Pretty sure John would have shown or told her the text of his idol clue, so when she sees the same text, she can safely assume there's no new idol (assuming of course that producers aren't reusing the same hiding place!)

Eh, I'm optimistic. Both of the modern seasons that employed 3 tribe formats were fantastic seasons (they also had great casting, so we'll see).

Perhaps the winner of a final challenge wins the million? Palau's final immunity challenge would be appropriate.

Yeah the biggest disappointment of the night is the season 30 reveal. At least the white collar tribe will presumably have some strategy.

Was hoping for a cast of returning players who aren't idiots.

Natalie taking out Baylor over Muffin at F5 seems awful, no?

Jaclyn's abs are amazing.

LOL at not voting out Natalie at F4.

I'm stunned people liked Reed's speech. I thought it was repetitive (he kept making the same exact point, then just saying it again and again with slightly different phrasing), derivative, and just all-around terrible.

Good job, Natalie...I guess. Now that it's over, let us never speak of this season ever again.

have D&C commented that they know one of the players on S30 yet? You saw a pic of him in the preview so it looks like the rumours are true.

Can someone explain to me why so many people like Penner? I found the dude annoying in every season and his voice + face combination is really punchable. What am I missing?

Um...explain? I swear, I often feel like I'm the only person ITT who isn't up-to-date on casting rumors.

For a moment there I thought Jac was going to vote out Nat, that would've won me over.

If I was switching teams, Reed made some good points.

A Missy/Keith/Jac f3 would've been more interesting.

The correct person won.

Etc

Don't get the hate for S30. So what if it's cliche, it doesn't mean **** in the large scheme of things. It's a format that should result in stronger casting and better dynamics then S29.

Dalton Ross has his Probst interview up. For S30 he says they cast it first, then fit the players into the format (just what they did with BBB). If I read it correctly, they didnt even have the format in mind during casting.

The problem with S29 is that they did hurry up casting to fit BvW2, and basically got a bunch of non-players. Sounds like they were also her by the pair of women being unable to play.

so Jeff Probst has made it a point not to give his opinion before a season airs because of the backlash he got after hyping up a bottom 5 Redemption Island season

but get what he just told Entertainment Weekly

Really surprised but also glad that Jaclyn took Natalie to the final 3. I guess she figures Keith and Nat are equal in terms of gameplay but Keith has one guaranteed vote in Wes? Or she just felt obligated because Nat saved her ass? Either way pretty bad move. Anyway Nat was by far the most deserving so it's cool that she did.

Reed really went hard on Missy, like damn give it a rest bro that's not very christian like. Still highly entertaining.

Slightly disappointed that they're not doing anything major for S30. At least give the winner 2 million or something.

I don't get the hate so much for this season either - the postmerge was pretty cool in that all the supposed power players were continually getting eaten by the pawns. I feel like in some seasons, there's huge complaints here that the pawns just go compliantly along and get voted out while a couple of people run the process, and everyone is saying why doesn't X realize he's at the bottom and do something. To see Jeremy, Reed, Josh, and Jon (who all had very good looking chances at varying points) get killed off was an endorsement of how far players have come - no one (no matter how dumb) was going to let someone come in and Boston Rob/Kim Spradling their way to an easy win.

Season summary:

1) Multiple blindsides of power players
2) Multiple correct idol plays, including one tribal with two correct idol plays
3) Multiple people going home with idols in their pockets
4) Deserving winner

I'll take it.
