The reason for this is quite simple. Guys are much more willing to cannibalize their own. Part of it may be ego driven, or alpha male dynamics vying for the top spot, but most of it comes down to the fact that men are generally bigger threats at winning challenges, and post-merge, that's obviously not a good thing. As such, guys have no problem voting out other guys.
Girls will vote out the guys for the same challenge threat reasons, with a bit of girl power thrown in the mix.
The result is a a few guys get a quick boot, and then after that point, the rest of the guys lose by the numbers. If you up the ****** factor on the girl side (such as in this season) then the probability of pagonging approaches 1. If you have a tribe of girls slightly more self aware, this may be averted, but if it goes too far and too many guys are on the jury, then it becomes too late as a lone guy getting to the end has a very high chance of winning.
cliffs: stop boys vs. girls seasons.
I just want them to get rid of gimmick formats altogether (only exceptions would be all-stars seasons)
If CBS is going to experiment with gimmick formats in future seasons, at least have them consider a format that won't lead to a yawn inducing, pagonging filled post-merge
I had such high hopes for South Pacific and One World through 6 exciting and entertaining episodes. And then... the merge happened
