Why does Yau-Man not just say 'If we're both in the final 4 and you win immunity, I'll trade you the car for immunity' and added a clause that they not vote for each other in the final 4, for fear of losing each other's jury votes. As it is, backstabbing Yau gets Dreamz another $40,000 and a 60k car.
There are a couple reasons I can think of. One, Yau-Man wanted the deal to be locked in immediately. He wanted it to be impossible for Dreamz to back out (of the deal itself, not of following through on it). If Yau-Man waits, it gives Dreamz an opportunity to change his mind at F5 if he realizes, "You know what? I need immunity, so no deal." Two, it allowed Yau-Man to give up the reward and send himself to exile. I think he thought there was a small chance they would hide a second idol again, and he obviously wanted it/didn't want anyone else to have it. Three, I think Yau-Man is just a super nice guy who was more than willing to risk giving a truck to a poor kid who might stab him in the back. As long as he felt the angle was +EV, he was going to take it, even if that meant assuming a lot of risk. Yau-Man.

re: the Danielle/Russell/Parv vote, we talked about it a lot in last year's thread. Yeah, they probably should have voted for Danielle instead of Parv, but it really just boils down to the fact that voting 3 on Russell and 3 on Parv works if Tyson doesn't level himself into switching his vote, so I don't think you can blame Rob for splitting it the way he did.

Anyone have any more rumors about S22? Is it for sure Rob vs Russell? I hear strong rumors, but IDK if they have any truth to them

CONFIRMED

Rob's team vs Russell's team (I believe each gets immunity until the merge)

It just started filming and I believe is either on day 2 or 3

Oh and I think it's all new players except for Rawb and Russ

I am still on Shane-watch. His Twitter has been updated a decent amount, but his blog has not been in a week. He was previously updating it multiple times a day.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

Oh and since discussion is all over the place in the survivor off season I wanted to ask about another survivor relevant show which has no official thread

Did anyone catch the finale of Colby Donaldson's hosted sharp-shooting competition last night? (Sorry to go off subject, just wondering if any survivor fans also watch this similar show)

I watched an early episode. It seemed far better than I expected, but not good enough to get me to come back.

Like, CONFIRMED confirmed? I'm too cautious to visit Sucks for this kind of stuff, but I would like to know if it's legit or just the same rumor that's been circulating.

If true...eh. I guess I should be excited, but I still don't love the idea because of the "immunity until the merge" thing. I mean, there's no possible way either guy is going to win the game, so it's really just a ratings ploy. Then again, I was pretty iffy on S20 before it started, so maybe I should just shut my mouth and trust that they know what they're doing.

kartinken if you like survivor as much as I do (which appears to be the case), I highly suggest you revisit the show and give it another shot, if you have the time

it gets really good at episode 5, so i suggest you watch that to see if you are still interested

here is a hulu link for free available streams of all top shot episodes, feel free to check out the show guys, as it is being brought back for season 2 in a few months

http://www.hulu.com/search?query=top+shot&st=1

BTW, it is rumored that they are grooming Colby Donaldson to replace Jeff Probst in upcoming survivor seasons

The immunity until merge is heavily HINTED, not yet confirmed

Although the whole Rawb vs Russ theme is indeed confirmed

I really don't see how they can win if they get to the F3 with a random, knowing that they had a free pass for half the game

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

the fact that they're calling this coming season "Survivor Nicaragua" when there are two seasons being taped in the same location should at least tell us that there's a gimmick to S22, no?

my guess is Survivor: Boston Rob vs Russell or some variation of this.

I saw an episode of Colby's show that he hosts. First thing I thought of was if Probst does leave, Colby would be a good replacement imo.

Re: Survivor: Nicaragua

Colby has played 3 times. He isn't a super star anymore, but still understands how the game works. If Probst leaves, I want him on a season to see how he actually does.

I've been watching it but haven't caught up. I'm at the episode where it's the last of the XXX team and next ep that I haven't seen is the merge.

It's really good actually and I enjoy it. Some parts are a bit hokey, like the competition recap stuff, but otherwise it's good! I could see it getting really good if they bring in crazier stuff and bring in some better cameras and technology for making the comps more exciting.

This one time I watched the archery competitions in the Olympics (satellite at a foreign friend's house because the US would never air it) and it seriously is one of my favorite sporting events to watch. I really really enjoy it. Especially since they had really good coverage of it. Like great close-ups of the person's face and stuff while they were about to shoot. It was awesome fun guessing how well they would strike each time, and there were a lot of epic moments too.
