The edit has been very interesting this season as contenders have crashed and burned quickly whilst people I thought had very little chance of winning are now possible chances, especially after erika's win last year. The one thing I'm certain of is that Jonathan isn't a jury threat, because they'd have taken him out last night if he was.

I think Omar likes having Jonathan around as a meat shield is why Jonathan is still around. Jonathan is the person other people are talking about being a threat. At the moment, Omar is more focused on people who might be capable of swaying power away from him. This week, he thought the biggest threat to himself was Hai. Next week, maybe he will shift gears and target a jury threat or an immunity threat.

I'm curious to see if Mike will be able to forgive Omar the bearing of false witness when he finds out. As cool as Hai was about getting got, is he going to be okay with how it went down?

Does anyone else look at who's left and have a hard time picturing Romeo getting voted out? I have a hard time figuring out what the reasoning would be.

Romeo has showed the ability to go crazy and try to organize a "big move". Maybe he learned, but maybe not and Omar will decide it's time for him to go.

Omar/Lindsay/Mike appears to be a nexus of power. But Drea must be stealing his idol soon

Statistically, the most likely f3 is probably mike/omar/lindsay but I cant shake the notion that Drea wins this thing with a Ben-style immunity/idol/advantage run

People are discounting Maryann at this point. Nobody is even mentioning her and flying under the radar this late is amazing. She also has two idols I believe? If one of her and Drea doesn't at least make FTC I'd be shocked.

Maryanne gets a lot of screen time too.

Id be shocked if Maryann wins.
Id be shocked if Maryann doesnt get a “last laugh” moment against big bad Jonathan

btw I'm not in the group of people itt who think this season sucks. I actually love most players.
omar - one of the best players ever imo, really impressed so far.
lindsay - proved she's smart and will probably go deep, also a great challenge contestant
jonathan - probably the best challenge beast ever.
drea - I like how she pauses and stares at jeff before answering during tribals lol
romeo - I like how he hates everyone but still puts on a happy face when talking to them. love his confessionals. too bad he's been blindsided. hope he turns this around.
hell, even mike is good tv.

Final three with Jonathon and Romeo?

Think all of the other five sweep in that scenario to be honest

yeah this is good, I think last episode was Omars first mistep. He can throw Hai under the bus without straight up lying. He doesn't need to go so hard at every spot, hes in a ridiclously good position.

Omar is doing an amazing job of controlling things but staying under the radar. He's also going to be appreciated by production for his attempt at pretending it was anyone other than Hai last night.

Romeo seems like one of those people who gets a lot of love and attention in the real world and is really struggling with the fact that he's not the center of the attention in this environment. I don't think he's even got the will or desire to struggle against his coming elimination and someone that skinny is going to be devastated by the elements.

Watching Jonathan try to talk strategy is about as painful as it was watching Lindsay try to do a physical challenge - it's part of the game, and you gotta try, but just completely unequipped for it. Maybe he gets to the end, but powering to the end of challenges just doesn't seem like something anyone cares about if you haven't played a part.

Drea I suspect will go down as a missed opportunity to win right there with Erik - with the social status she had in the tribe and her bag of advantages, she should be running the show. Instead, she's just kind of...there. Getting in her own head about the societal staff probably ends up hurting her more than helping. The one good thing she's done is not share the volume of advantages she has, keeping her from being the target she should be, and it might just be enough to get her there.

I cannot see Maryanne making a convincing FTC case. Between her youth and personality, she's going to be difficult for the rest of the players to relate to, and it's difficult for her to point to a resume of any sort. I can't see the cast looking at her and saying "she's the one I want to give the million to".

Big fan of Lindsay - seems to have a good challenge/strategy mix, but hasn't gotten herself in a position of real power yet. She's played a "don't beat yourself" game well. Interested to see if she can take it forward as she seems to be trying to do.

Mike - he's like Jonathan-lite; nice guy and very likeable, but just isn't on the strategic level needed. Even worse, and he referenced it, his game is the "I'm the one you can trust" and his biggest move so far was to blindside the one guy he gave his word to. Don't see much of a win-path for him unless he somehow gets to the end vs Romeo and maybe Jonthan or Maryanne.

Win chance power rankings from here:

1. Omar
2. Drea
3. Lindsay
4. Mike
5. Jonathan
6. Maryanne
7. Romeo

I agree with what you are saying. I disagree that managing Mike off the jury matters. I think that puppet master line will come up because Mike's totally honorable gameplay will be questioned at FTC (by Hai himself or somebody else).

I have her down for 1. She played her original one at the woke tribal.

What I have recorded is:

Drea: Knowledge is Power (steal an idol), extra vote, amulet
Maryanne: Idol, extra vote (?)
Mike: Idol
Lindsay: Amulet

That's a good point about Mike/Jonathan. They are essentially the same player. One dominates challenges and the other dominates socially, but neither are good enough strategically to be a major threat.

do drea/lindsay each get a steal a vote if they play the amulets or is it a combined power?

you'd think they'd want to target each other to get the idol. if lindsay somehow goes out next ep, at F6, Drea could have 2 idols (amulet + steal mike's) and an extra vote.

she should make FTC, but not sure she has much of a winning case other than 'i found a bunch of advantages'

I think it's a combined steal a vote, not one each, but I could be wrong. I also don't know who would get to use it then or if they have to reach a consensus beforehand

Finally got caught up, fun season!

-Omar is in a tier of his own right now (IMO), playing fantastic

-Lindsay seems really solid all-around + she's a beast in challenges.

-I think Drea beats anyone but Omar at FTC (and maybe him too)-she's been uneven but I think she's savvy, has the potential to close well if she gets there, and should benefit from who's on the jury.

-I appreciate Jonathan simply for how comically dominant he is at anything strength-related in challenges.

-Mike is awesome for Survivor. He alternates between getting emotional and overreacting to minor things (Chanelle writing his name down even though he did it to her, Omar's lie about Hai) and shattering stereotypes about older people with how good he is at listening to and connecting with people who are seemingly polar opposites of him.

same. this is the closest we'll ever get of having a superhero on survivor. seems like every ep he's carrying people, heavy packages or boats by himself.

Agree with everything you said.

I do think Drea beats Omar at FTC (as it stands). It's one thing doing a lot of work in the shadows, its another to explain your game to the jury and have them believe you. The last winner I can remember doing this successfully was Sophie Clarke way back when in s22.

Spoiler:
However we have just seen Kevin, an UTR puppet master sweep a bb canada jury vote, a format even harder to explain your game in, so anything is possible
