While the super idol certainly propelled Yul to the final four, he just squeeked out the win. If Ozzy had a better social game (less abrasive), he would have been a lock.

If they wait too long to do an all-winner's season, all the early season winners will be senior citizens and not much fun anymore

I mean it doesn't really matter when they do it if that's the case, if they wait longer instead of being s1-s30, tit will be like s5-s35.

An all winner season would be great. A runner-up season, season of the WOAT (too many goats). Third and fourth have some decent players.

Yeah of course, but I hope they don't wait too long to do it, because it would suck to not see some earlier winners just because it was so long ago. They should do an all-winner's season like once every 30 seasons or something.

I don't even think an all-winners season would be that interesting to watch. Part of the dynamic is you need people that are "followers".

I think you're vastly overestimating the quality of the all-winners cast. The field in the "last person out before the finals" season would be significantly stronger.

Completely disagree. If you were to choose one finishing place to base a season on, first place is no doubt going to be the highest quality in terms of skill.

If you could do a Winners vs. Last Players Out Before FTC (needs a better name) season, the winners look much better. Factoring in who would actually play again...

If you try to do an all-winners season, though, it becomes a real struggle to even fill it out. You only have 27 winners including Cagayan, and several of them simply are not coming back: Boston Rob and Amber are done, Aras has retired, Danni is done, LOL Heidik, several of them are horrible TV, etc.

I honestly haven't looked at it, but I would bet that more of the "just missed" group are leaders (depending on if we define that the same way) vs. the winners. Also, the all-winners season gets watered down pretty quickly because they have more issues. They're naturally less inclined to play again, and some of the best ones have either played 3+ times already or are retired/never coming back. CBS doesn't want to hype an all-winners season, then have a F5 of Vecepia, Natalie White, Earl, Chris Daughtery, and Fabio. In fact, I'd say this idea had absolutely zero chance of happening without the Sophie/Spradlin/Denise hot streak we hit.

I agree that there are some good players there but there are also a lot more people in the second column that I do not want to see on my screen again.

Cochran also said he wouldn't play again. For the people who said no maybe things would change if it was all winners who knows.

Regardless, I don't think the pool is big enough for either one to happen yet. Even if you want to only use a 16-person cast for the all-winners season, there are only 26 to choose from today. You can immediately remove Boston Rob, Amber, Heidik, Danni, Aras, Yul, and Cochran, so we're already at 19. Are Ethan and Todd able to play? Tyson, Parvati, and Tina all for a 4th time? You absolutely can't have this season without Hatch and Sandra, so are they in? Even if that all works out, you're still left with several really awful returnees CBS is forced to play due to the small pool.

I think the all-winners season is inevitable, but I don't really see the upside in doing it now. Especially with the show's high ratings, why not wait a few years until the pool is bigger and the ratings boost is needed?

The "just missed" season has more potential now IMO, as they can tweak the guidelines to whatever they want (ex. F5 or later, involved in the final RI duel, idol'd out, booted holding an idol post-merge, etc.), and the pool is filled with more people who have incentive to want to return. I also wouldn't overlook the possibility a Philippines-style season (3 tribes of 5 plus 3 male returnees) where they bring back Malcolm, Ozzy, and Terry and bill it as a "one spot short" season. I mean, isn't Malcolm the single biggest lock to play in/before S30?

Rafe will not come back being he's one of the more successful survivor contestants post survivor writing for shows like Chuck and Agents of SHIELD. He also has been invited back on at least one occasion that's known and has rejected it.

You can't really count anyone out. They could bump the prize money to say 3MM to entice some back. Bump in money could be justified by the annoying reward challenge sponsorships or the superior ratings of all-star seasons.

Bump in prize AND guaranteed cash incentives for selected Survivors could coax some of these people out of retirement. Also they could promise cushy reward challenges and try for a more forgiving climate.

Why would she need the second one?
