ugh was hoping they would pivot to some politics or something

why are they starting some new venture inside waystar when everyone is under the impression it is about to be sold? show is all over the place and getting harder to follow

I believe (not positive) that the reason they're pushing this is to drive up the waystar stock price even higher to force maatson to abandon ship.

Because Kendall and Roman don't want to sell and this was a scheme to try to push the price up, which is apparently somehow working?

I thought it would go the same as all the other stupid plans they've come up with. I assume it'll blow up in their face soon enough

part of it is also that the kids have basically done nothing in their life and want to prove to the world they can run ****. the nepo jokes really get to them.

Connor's character is a good cautionary tale if the kids decide to do nothing. If they don't keep busy, they could end up on a ranch, becoming completely out of touch with the world around them and basically have to buy a person for companionship.

I can think of lots of ways to keep busy with 100m that don't involve working.

"Gated communities, infinite freedom."

I dunno, the real estate thing definitely came out of left field but I found the skewering of these type of communities to be absolutely hilarious.

Plus I kinda missed completely manic, hyped up Kendall.

yeah that's what they said, but it seemed like they were trying to tank the company in order to kill the deal lol. instead kendall did a bunch of coke and committed fraud? genius

Its kendalls hail mary to inflate the stockprize and subsequently tank the current deal.
Pretending its a pivot to tech while its just realestate and the whole concept not making any sense, yet convincing investors reminded me of wework.
Add his cryptotalk of going to the moon, he will be on the run soon enough.

For me, this show is the best on stream now. The dialogue and the acting are far above any other show. I was wondering if they could keep it up from the previous years but they have. Grade A.

It is a sub-story, but the interplay between Shiv and Tom as partially estranged wife and husband this season is incredibly deep and sophisticated. Some writer on Succession really understands women's feelings, marriage, and romance at a high level.

I wonder how the writers intend to end the show in the final episode of its run. Will the kids completely lose Waystar and fail at a new business? Will one of them dominate and leave the others? Will they successfully run Waystar as a team? Somehow Tom becomes CEO? I dunno what they will do.

(One observation that I have never seen made, and its not meant to be a criticism, more of a curiosity, is that there has been a total lack of any significant non-white or Jewish characters (not sure about this) in this show. No wives, girlfriends, partners, entrepeneurs, managers are non-white for four seasons. Unless I forgot someone, it has been a 99% white cast show for four seasons. In these modern days of multi-ethnic shows it is odd. Maybe because it's a satire. Again, not complaining.)

I’m clueless how they’ll end it because I don’t really know what “winning” or “losing” looks like to them. There’s the obvious stuff but then there are the subtleties that I’ll probably understand once I’ve read or watch a detailed synopsis lol

There was a review I read about episode 5 that was titled “Mattson smashes the Roy’s to pieces” and that seems hyperbolic but was it? I get what they were going for but I didn’t think as highly of what was happening to think it was that big of a deal at the time. That makes me think that a loss to some would seem like an inconvenience to me. Same with a win. Their win would seem like a slight nod.

I have a feeling there's not going to really be an "end" or any clear-cut winners or losers. The show has always been more about the characters and dialog than any real coherent plot anyway. If anything, the common theme seems to be that there are basically no consequences to anything that happens to these people, at least not by conventional standards. Winning or losing is just momentary, and then they move on to the next play.

yeah, the winning/losing is gonna come on the human side of things, not business

I guess I could see it. Something about the ending scene showing Kendall floating in the water last episode though. Gave me impending death vibes.

It did for a second but him being face up switched it for me. Kendall had a lot farther to fall than Roman so if **** goes wrong, Kendall will be destroyed. I don’t think it would take all that much more to push Roman into something dire.

What the whole swim in the ocean thing at the end - he's always been closed to drowning. Season 1 finale - season 3 ep 8. Him ODing would also be too obvious. I think Roman would be the more surprise death.

This isn't meant as an insult in any way, but thinking like this means it's very unlikely you'll ever have 100M. The guys who get that kind of money are just wired super different - to them, the money isn't there to be enjoyed for enjoyments sake, it's just the scorecard and the ability to flaunt.

But the kids didn't earn $0.01 of that. They were born into it.

Your comment is more relevant to Logan, and I agree that people like him are indeed wired differently. The kids, no evidence they are anything but hangers on and wannabes.
