So this I actually didn't mind at all.
But that's because they have the rule that an ACTUAL Mayhem vote requires ALL members to vote yes. And the black dude wasn't there for the vote. So I was actually thinking that this couldn't be a real mayhem vote and that due to the secrecy it had to be something else, so I was happy that this was right. But yes, crap finale nonetheless.
I've marathoned this show over the last two months or something when I've had time and just finally saw the last episode tonight. So in this way I have a different perspective on the show than those who've followed it throughout. I enjoyed Season 1, Season 2 was fine, then by Season 3 it started getting really, really repetitive - the same "plot formulas" were being used over and over again (omg, new gang relations have to be worked out and omg, secrets etc. etc.), plus I hated the Irish setting.
It took me a long time to get through Season 3 because it felt like a chore to watch, but then Season 4 revitalized me a bit. Or maybe it was Season 5, I don't even know, it's blurred together for me. After that it pretty quickly became boring again though, but I wanted to finish it just for the sake of having seen it all.
The two main problems with this show is the repetitiveness and the fact that the writers don't know how to build up to and write dramatic scenes that are emotionally effective. They had so many big characters die throughout the show and for most of them I didn't feel anything when it happened. They should've gone with the GoT model here of having the characters die towards the very end of the episode rather than in the middle of the episode only to leave us with some boring unrelated dialogue scenes after that followed by a stupid montage.
