After reading so many tepid reviews my expectations were lowered considerably, but I actually really liked the show. I laughed several times (cross's "a white man" delivery, arnett's reaction to the plaque, puddle eating the plant, "he realized he made a huge mistake", "dr. magazine"). I like Arnett's oblivious rich guy shtick and Keri Russel is amazing so I definitely will be sticking with this one for a while.

The main problems were the two guys who work for him. I didn't really find anything funny or interesting about either of those characters. Also the premise is extremely flimsy but w/e.

I thought these were the 2 funniest characters. I really loved the bit about the driver overcharging him for everything and keeping the extra, plus the actor reminds me of Andy Richter which is good. And effeminate gay guys are always funny on tv.

This is still better than Entourage.

I thought the pilot wasn't funny but that perhaps it *could* be funny in later episodes

Enjoyed it, but still was a pilot and needs work that I expect to get better with time. Seems like poor man's AD, but I'll take that over anything else.

Some great moments, some dull moments---I would watch it, but I doubt the American public will.

That's what I was thinking at the first break tonight. Maybe a Keri Russell leg shaving spinoff? I'd watch that!

I wouldn't really like this show if it wasn't for Will Arnett.

Glad (some of) you guys liked it. I know me saying this is worth basically zero but fwiw I think the episodes get better and better as the season progresses. If the show lasts long enough for them to be aired of course.

Serafinowicz is awesome too and he owned the second ep pretty hard.

If you like Richter you're going to love episode 4 (I think it will be ep 4). He guest stars and murdered it.

Well this was a thousand times better than the pilot but mostly because of Cross.. which should be no surprise to anyone. Unfortunately other than GOB (lets be honest) and the neighbor the rest of the cast is doing absolutely nothing. The writing is good though!

Will Arnett's character huge amount of wealth just isnt funny. It seems like that is what the whole show is pinned on, but there hasnt been any funny jokes about it. The thing with playing hide and seek for 500 dollars just isnt that amusing. Im sure next week Will will buy a pink elephant or something to show his huge amount of wealth but total disregard for the value of money, but it probably wont be that funny.

Peter Serafinowicz's character seems to be the funnier of the two and should probably be the main focus of the show. Failing that just fill the show with AD references which will always be funny.

Really liked this episode, after hating the pilot. Much stronger plotting and writing. Regained a lot of the manic quippiness of AD.

I liked this episode too. I find the jokes more amusing than laugh out loud funny but I still like the weirdness of the show. I could definitely see this becoming a top drawer comedy.

Fsoyars-

What is the general reaction to the ratings so far? I would guess everyone is pretty bummed especially considering the success of Rasing Hope. What are the expectations ratings wise going forward and what do you think the ratings need to be to a) stay on the air for the rest of the season and b) possible get renewed?

Ratings are sort of in that annoying place right now where they aren't good enough for anyone to be feeling great about it but also not bad enough for anyone to be packing up the office. Sort of on the fence. In order to for the show to last we definitely can't afford to go down much more and at some point will certainly need to build. The good news is, we're not Lonestar.

Much better than the pilot. I like how there's subtle references to AD in each episode.

"David Cross:" Come on
"Will Arnett:" Stop saying that

Not too much to where it would be labeled a "poor man's version" but enough to satisfy all the AD fans who watch this show too.

Still pretty boring to me. All actors seem too much on edge, like they each have the weight of AD expectations on them and they're trying too hard.
