life doesn't always race towards the finish line with crazy happenstance all the time.
I find the slow burn enjoyable but then again the drop is one of my fav films and almost nothing happens in that entire film.

can def understand how some ppl could find the show dull, but for me the plot is largely irrelevant, I mean literally watching someone paint a pool has been entertaining to me, that's quite a feat.

It's okay kioshk, but there's really no hyperbole going on in this thread. Chilltown even admitted he hasn't been paying attention, as Daniel's plea deal didn't resolve anything. For you to think that Trey is being railroaded shows you aren't paying attention either. The Sheriff's larger idea is figuring out what happened in the Hanna murder, and he thinks if he can get Trey to crack under some pressure that he will find out that truth. I'm pretty sure the Sheriff thinks George is a suicide, but wants to turn over every rock he can to try to get at the earlier truth he's really after that should be ruining careers as opposed to the careers that case made.

If you're looking for something with a lot of twists and action, this isn't it. It's a show that feels like we're a part of these people's lives, living through it with them. Would it be more effective if we were years down the line as opposed to months in the storyline? Sure, but that's not what they're doing.

This show is extremely well written, extremely well executed, and has pitch perfect acting all around. My biggest gripe about the show was lack of development in Daniel's acting. We've seen more range, but it makes more sense for there not to be much development when it's taking place over the space of a couple of months (it's over 2 years in our lives).

Can't understand why anyone would be complaining about this season. This show wasn't moving fast at any point in the first two seasons, how did you guys last this long that you're just now noticing not much happens?

I actually feel like this season is advancing the whole story faster than it has at any other point in the show. It seems like we're getting pretty close to actually finding out what happened.

This show is a god damned masterpiece for me. The characters, the dialogue, the performances, I'm completely riveted when watching.

Very good episode, closed strong. Not sure about John picking on the stroked-out Senator, but whatevs.

Yeah, that was a little strange. So was the Tawney dream. But overall good episode.

That last episode may just go down as one of my favorite TV episodes ever. Beautiful stuff!

i enjoyed the last episode quite a bit, but i was disappointed. my expectations were super high. the last episode of season 2 was much better.

i kept stopping this episode because i didn't want to finish it and have it be over.

I thought the episode meandered a little bit, but it was still an excellent episode with some excellent scenes. Contrary to what kioshk says, I think Jon picking on the Senator was apropos. He is a sonofabch. That Gulf water was an ugly azz brown.

SK, and his trolling rankings. Tawney is both an excellent character, and one of the best written characters on the show. For you to rank her at the bottom just proves you have no soul.

It was also nice to get a full timeline explanation that we're at 7 weeks. It helps make the ending of Trey not be as bad, since time's gone nowhere.

i wanted to see daniel's friend from prison. the scenes with him were great. it's amazing how much empathy we had for a guy who killed a little girl


and i rarely agree with nunnehi, but tawney is a great character. she is real. she is simple. she is complex. i love her.

I don't remember if it's been mentioned ITT but the creator n showrunner is the guy who played the preacher on deadwood.
and the actor who plays trey was a main character on deadwood as well.

I don't know quite why but she's the only character on the show that I'm a little bit sick of at this point. Like Daniel was locked in solitary confinement for 20 years and he seems only slightly more troubled than Tawney does.

OMG, I can't believe he was Johnny on Deadwood. Amazing.

I love the Tawney character and I thought her dream scene with Daniel was amazing, one of the high points of the season for me.

He is killing it on Rectify as well. Scene with him watching TV with his family while the cops searched his house was so good.

Just marathoned S2. What a terrific show. Best writing, and top to bottom, best acting on any show on TV.
