Somewhat of a dull ep this week, but kind of a cool end to it. No Root sucked though.

I love the way Shahi is playing her character. Every scene in which she is not holding a gun or playing with Bear she looks like she's incredibly uncomfortable.

Shahi is the perfect woman. And yeah, she's so great in this. Her at the bank was awesome.

I enjoyed that episode a lot.

Carter partner being a spy will continue to build HR plot.

Emotionless? No feelings? Yikes if that's your idea of a perfect woman. But to each, ........

Anyway, most recent ep w/ the little girl spy and Carter owning her partner was GREAT! This show is so solid.

Sarah Shahi, yes. 100%

Shaw... well, yeah. Still would

Her with the girl at the end was so endearing. The Root sighting was nice. I'm really glad I decided to check this show out.

whoever cast shahi and acker should get a raise. love those two

show is obviously elite and probably the best I can remember at balancing bad guy of the week with the season long story arcs

Yeah, I thought the episode was awesome. I thought the Machine really likes Root.

I don't like that it's on at 10pm, I have to wait till the next day to watch it.

Show has been ridic good this season. Having Root and Shaw as part of main cast and not just guest stars was a great move.

Agreed. Taking an already great show and adding two smoking hot women that are also really unique and interesting is an expert play.

Anyone else think we're heading towards a conflict between the 'good guys' and the machine?

Well the machine told Root not to kill and it has bought itself a major hacker asset for some future plan (something Root cannot do alone) related to protecting itself again Vigilance.

Its possible the machine will go overboard in protecting itself, but there isnt any reason to assume that at this moment imo. If there is a rift it might be something like the machine's plan requiring the death of Shaw, or Root, and Finch is horrified at this change - but that kinda shifts the machine into being the protagonist which I think is probably a bad move to make for the show long term.

Just got a chance to watch. Very good ep. Glad Fucso is back but still want to see more of him. Lol at the ease of infiltrating the CIA safehouse. The Root v Shah dialogue while in captivity was primo. And Harold kills it every scene.

Time to trim the cast down prior to the Christmas season hiatus.

It was probably a typo in your case, but I actually call him Fucso every time he gets on the screen, so this made me laugh...lol.

Something I think is really interesting to note in the Root vs. Harold vs. The Machine dynamic is that Root is under the mistaken assumption that she's special, and that The Machine would talk to Harold if he were as special as her (or however that conversation went). They spent a significant amount of time in season 2 showing The Machine learning Harold while being tested. One of its problems was that it got very attached to him, and Harold made sure that it wouldn't get personally involved with him. As Harold has learned again, The Machine is definitely "off the reservation" with another person. Based on how The Machine has acted, if Root weren't meant to be held, it would have told her to get away. It's evidently what The Machine wanted for some future purpose.

I also thought it was a nice piece of "redemption" that the guy was willing to point out who HR was. The look on Carter's face of "Oh F***, I just told him everything!" was classic. Elias is also just sitting there, ready to pounce when everything gets moved out of the way again for him.

Ha definitely a typo. Good catch.

Elias is so awesome.

Glad Carter got to see who the boss man is. Surprised about that shooting tho. How does she explain her dead partner and another dead cop, let alone one killed by her gun?

Two cops died firing police issued guns. As long as all the guns disappear from that scene, no one would know who did it, because it would be impossible to match ballistics as most probably use the same bullets (which would likely be police issue). HR would probably cover it up, too, because both those guys are in HR, and there would be a lot of questions to answer about how they happened to kill each other.

I wouldn't really worry about that too much. There has to be a plan from the writers for cleaning the scene. It also helps that literally no one knows that Lackey is teamed with Carter.
