If you want to participate here are the rules:

You must have a reg date of 2015 or earlier.

PM me your list using the following template-

Please pay attention to the formatting of the list because it makes it much easier to count. Use 10 rows, put your number 1 show at the top and 10 at the bottom. Template:

1. Best show of the year
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
7.
8.
9.
10. Tenth best show of the year

Your number 10 show is your tenth favorite show of the year, number 1 is your favorite.

Your number 10 show receives 1 point, number 9 gets 2 points, 8-3 points...up to 1 which gets 10 points.

No ties, every show must have a dedicated slot.

You are voting for the episodes of a show that aired during the 2016 calendar year only. If you vote for a show that aired no new episodes during 2015 the votes won't be counted for that show.

All shows that aired during 2016 are eligible, scripted, reality, mini-series, game shows, talk shows, television specials, TV movies, shows on streaming services.

One entry per slot, and only 10 votes per ballot, if you try to cheat and use ties, your ballot will be thrown out.

Voting will stay open until the end of 12/26 and I will post the results shortly after. I will do a top 20 list.

Use this thread for general discussion but I think it is best if no one posts their exact list for more suspense.

Shows that might've made the list if I was up to date on them (meaning I've watched previous seasons and liked the show): Mr. Robot, UnReal, Orange is the New Black, Silicon Valley, Bloodline, iZombie, Penny Dreadful

I'm having a hard time coming up with a list because I don't know if I've seen ten shows that I liked this year. I can think of ~8 pretty easily and then it gets really difficult. (Yeah, I don't watch that much TV)

I'm incredibly jealous of folks who had enough time to consume as much TV as they desired. My list will be subpar due to me not having been able to watch nearly as many quality shows as I'd have preferred.

When I went to vote, it dawned on me there was no Nathan for You either, plus of course Fargo. And I'm sure I'd have voted for The Missing if it had made it stateside. Plus Fortitude, which made my list last year, might never see the light of day due to Pivot going bye bye.

Meyers is ok. his Closer Look segments are usually good, same with Ya Burnt, have seen some other good ones too. not surprising that his desk bits are solid given his experience on Weekend Update. i'll definitely take him over Cordon. but i couldn't vote for him here in good conscience given that he still isn't very good at interviewing people, which is like half the job. also he comes across as one of the smuggest, most self-satisfied people on tv, which is a little off-putting.

Celeb interviews are the worst part of every talk show, unless it is somebody like Norm Macdonald. Judging a show and host by them is tardy.

hard to not recency bias this list

my only criteria is the extent to which I felt I had to watch the next episode. if I could record and wait a few days/take a week break on netflix then the show is out.

Fargo was end of 2015 Chuck and future voters, also LOL Girls at 1. Obama's goal of having everyone be gay may almost come to fruition just before he leaves office.

Ohhhh crap I was sure that Fargo was aired in like March of this year? Where does all the time go? My apologies to OP for completely botching the list, I'll send a new one with an explanation note soon

Also, Girls = top5 show of the decade IMO
