Pretty much continuing the trend placed by season 6 for me. This episode had a few moments/one-liners that provided a good laugh but then lots of stuff which fell very flat.

Agree. Feel like they tried too hard with that.
I'm glad Creed's one liners this episode was not the standard "I'm a thief/criminal/murderer" that they were doing every episode last season, so in that sense...killlled it.

They've been bringing in a lot of new ones since season 5, when Michael Schur and Greg Daniels left to do Parks & Recreation. I think they had a huge impact on making the show great in its peak.
You can check the
list of episodes to see who the writers of each episode are. The team just isn't as strong as it used to be and they don't quite know how to capture what made the old episodes great. In fact, a lot of the time they miss the mark completely.
