Seems like they needed a scene where Naz is given a Miranda warning to get an attorney... or maybe I just missed it.

Loved the first episode. I'm anxious to see the direction they take the show.

Turtorro asked him if they read him his rights, and he said they did.

Regardless, it's still noble work he's doing.

Loved this 1st episode, what was up with the limo hearse driver at gas station? Has to be relevant, when Nas come out he is already done pumping gas and just waiting at front of his vehicle, then proceeds to leave behind them.

Maybe not, but there are 7 hours of drama left to fill. He and his buddy are the only people who can ID the kid as being at that apartment. Throw in whatever evidence that they collected that they blew the chain of custody on and you start being able to add little pieces of reasonable doubt for the lawyer to talk about.

The whole time I was watching the scene at the house I just kept thinking "Jesus I dodged a bullet". Almost no question I woul dhave done the same thing at that age, though I'd probably have insisted she put on a band-aid after stabbing her hand.

The guy who plays Nazir is fantastic, and I just felt so sorry for him the entire time. I'm glad is a contained series rather than a standard TV show.

GREAT first episode. It was torturous to watch in the best way possible. I especially loved when Naz is forced to sit in the police car and watch as the entire police department descends on his crime scene. Putting yourself in his shoes is excruciating. The whole thing is so good and then John Turturro shows up at the end to make it even better? Damn, most impressive premiere episode of anything in a while. Since TD maybe?

He was going to, but someone came in the couple times he tried to leave. It wouldn't have mattered though, his fingerprints on knife, blood from broken window, and the parking ticket on his dads cab would have brought the police to his door soon enough.

if he leaves the police station, he can ditch the knife. presumably his fingerprints and dna are not in the system prior to arrest. eventually they would check out parking ticket but that takes a lot longer. not sure if that would be enough evidence to get a warrant (if witnesses don't ID him).

idk why he brought the knife with him to the police car. he should've left it in the cab. he could've taken it out of his pocket when he was pulling over

this was good...but it is so over the top with the amount of evidence against him....obviously, we're going to see how Turturow gets him off. But it would be pretty funny if it ends up that Naz actually did kill her during his blackout.

I don't know that he is going to get off for the crime, now am I sure he's innocent. Your post reminds me of the tv show Justice from a few years ago. It was a legal show where at the end of each episode they showed what really happened so that you would know if the person had been guilty or not. I doubt I saw them all but was always waiting for one where an innocent person was found guilty.

really liked episode 1 and am in for this show. what I liked most is the visuals and pacing and acting is very strong and doesn't annoy.

Spoiler:
i found it unbelievable that a girl like that would go with a dude like naz.

obviously the fact the dude said he was alone when they had their spat outside her residence, its going to come back somehow that he wasn't alone. his friend, with that stare, seems like that guy is going to be relevant.

don't run from crime scenes

I'm finding the internal portrayal of detectives either building a case or searching for truth - and that fine line between - to be fascinating and want to see how that plays out.

when a girl is really messed up, she could go for a like naz and a whole lot worse.

I think he did it

I think part of the reason this was so good was that we (at least I) were rooting for Naz to escape from the police, even though there's only evidence that he did it and hes a killer.

Very intresting to see where this show goes on from here.

Watching it I never once thought he did it but I guess its possible but my view on how I thought it play out would be wrong.

i'm gonna be real pissed if it turns out that he didn't do it but "knows" more about what happened yet is suffering from some kind of memory loss or something.

like that he had some kinda interaction with the person who was also in the place killing her yet was too high / drunk to remember it
