New Girl - OOTV -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

Anyone catch the first episode? I thought it was funny, i've been a fan of her's since 500 days of summer. The goofballness is funny and charming. I hope it doesn't get cancelled like all the other fox shows.

And is it me, or does UB sponsor the show?

Love Zooey but I thought this was bad. I hate laugh tracks but Whitney Cummings' show was much funnier than this dreck.

Of the four new sitcoms I watched I'll probably never see another episode of Up All Night, Free Agents or The New Girl.

I'll give Whitney a few more to see what develops. I really liked her and the guy who plays her boyfriend was good in his role. For a pilot episode the chemistry between the two leads was nice. Also liked the pessimistic blond.

I thought it was just ok. Maybe it will get better. I kept thinking the show is just Zooey playing a younger version of Liz Lemon from a 30 Rock - a socially awkward, glasses wearing brunette.

officially yea but FOX decided to premiere their new fall comedy series “New Girl” on iTunes first... or something

As i said in the Fall thread this show will live and die on whether Zooey fans stick around to watch her in it. If you dont like her at all you wont like the show. I do and i probably will.

I think she can carry the entire show, which is convenient given how the other characters and actors seem really bad.

What was up with the UB logo? It was very prominently on the screen for like a solid two minutes. I was one of the most out-of-place product placement I have ever seen. I'm very surprised that a network would permit this sort of product placement given the legal climate, and I can't imagine it was coincidental given that its pretty bizarre for someone to just happen to have a big UB logo sitting on the shelf of their bar.

i really wanted to like this , didnt like zooey deschannels character and i dont think she can carry the show, . still <3 zooey tho and ill give it a few more eps.

just want to add damon wayans jr was awful , just stiff and completely unfunny.

Don't ask me how I know this but IIRC the two leads are actually an IRL couple, so that kinda explains it

As for this show I haven't watched it but I really hate the premise, like no one would ever fall in love with a gorgeous dorky woman, aren't they like the holy grail???

Kinda liked this. Dunno how it's going to be without Wayans Jr, as he was pretty good, but it wasn't bad. I don't know if I'd make a point to watch it, but if I was around and it was on...

New Girl opened to excellent ratings. 4.7 in the 18-49 with a little over 10 million viewers, beating the Glee lead in, by quite a bit, and torching the Raising Hope 2nd season premiere, which also had good 18-49 numbers. I think this series is a work in progress, but has the potential to be fun.

I don't think it's good enough to sustain a 4.7, but I hadn't even heard of this show 3 weeks ago (I watched the Pilot on hulu on Monday). FOX didn't even promote in on their website, when they were talking about new shows last spring, or I somehow missed it.

There were some things that made me cringe, but the show definitely has appeal, and room for improvement. If it maintains even a fraction of these numbers, it should be a slam dunk season 2 pick up.

<3 <3 zooey, but first episode turned out boring and not funny at all. I thought everyone except zooey was awful. Well, maybe the black guy a little bit less awful... only because everyone else was SO AWFUL.
