I think the message with the Zed storyline is that she has problems following directions, and that obviously leaves Constantine majorly exposed after this episode. If she hadn't left, she would have been fine. She left, now it's possible for everything to fall apart. She has poorly honed thought processes right now. She probably felt what she was doing made sense in the moment, but it was really awful decision making at the time.

I think the show has been getting better with each passing week. Weaving Chaz's back story into the plot this week was well done. The last 2 episodes have actually been really good but the ratings remain in the can, although I guess it's a beacon of hope they improved on the 2nd episode back from the mid season break.

I mentioned earlier (I think) that I might make a brief appearance in episode 10, and I did. But it was BRIEF. Like, "Quick, pause it! Ok, now go back three frames!" brief. Not really even worthy of mentioning, but I will.

At the 37 minute mark (counting commercials), there is the scene where Constantine and Zed are walking through the hospital hallway and there are a bunch of coma patients on gurneys. Families are crying, doctors are rushing around, etc. I'm a doctor. I had a feeling that if I was getting any camera time, it would be a split second, and I was correct. There's a point where the camera focuses on a coma patient wearing a rust-colored sweater on the right side of the hall. I can be seen (kind of) approaching from down the hallway. It's just my blurry head in the background.

I was hoping I'd make the cut a few seconds later. I eventually stop at the head of that kid's gurney and talk to the dad. I between takes, the man and I decided that he was going to be pissed at me for not doing enough to help his son. So, during the shots, he grabbed my lab coat and yelled at me (well, pantomimed it). I did an "Ok, ok, I'm doing the best I can" type of reaction and then got out my pen light to look at his kid. Obviously none of that made the cut.

I was in the scene earlier in that same hallway when there were just two coma patients and it was calm, but I didn't make the cut there, either. I was crossing behind Constantine after he passed the male patient.

Not a whole lot interesting to report from that set.

1) I was originally going to be a coma patient, but they decided I'd be better as a doctor. The coma patients were also originally going to wear special contents for some visual effects and the female patient in that first hallway scene did at first, but they ended up nixing them for some reason.

2) I was almost picked for a small flashback scene, but the person making the decision said, even though I am 38 years old, I had too much of a "baby face." They picked a guy who kind of looked like Rob Riggle (he was the first doctor shown in the hectic hospital hallway scene). I haven't watched the episode aside from "my" scenes, so I don't know if that scene was in the episode. I was also sent a text a week later or so asking if I could come back for a featured doctor role, but I couldn't do it.

3) There was drama between some extras and a production assistant. Our craft services table was more pathetic than usual, while, as usual, the crew's "crafty" was great and very close to ours. As the long day wore on, some crew members said it was cool if extras grabbed one or two things from their table, like a drink and a snack, as long we didn't loiter and crowd the table. Many extras took them up on their offer and were very respectful. A PA eventually saw some extras over there and took exception. One "type-A" extra tried to explain, but she would have nothing of it and was quite rude. A heated argument ensued. That extra came back to where we were hanging out (called "extras holding") and was seething, said he considered breaking his rule of never hitting a woman. OH THE DRAMA.

I haven't been involved in any filming since then and probably won't be for a while (I'm getting pickier and I have a hip issue requiring me to stay off my feet as much as possible for a while), so I likely won't have any more interesting/uninteresting tidbits to report.

I finally caught up again, and those were two pretty damn good episodes. The scene with Manny having sex was so effing hilarious. The show has some really good moments, and I'm gonna definitely miss it when it's gone. Interestingly, they used the language "the season finale" for this week's episode. I don't want to get any false hope, though.

dlk, you are probably going to be depressed if the featured doctor role was the one from last week's episode. That was a good part, and I easily could have seen you playing it based on some of the photos you've posted. There were two doctor roles of semi-prominence in the episode, and one was a lot older than the other (the one Manny took the body of). The older doctor had some lines, but not many. The other played an important role in the plot of the episode.

I enjoy the stories, so keep them coming if you end up working again.

I don't know what episode it would've been, so I'll just leave myself in the dark.

I would guess anyone with lines wasn't an extra, so I don't think that will bother me. Tangent: Halt & Catch Fire is filming again. Haven't been too many calls for extras yet, but I keep looking out for the reprisal of the Bill Gates character.

hahaha, I'm guessing the part was probably the doctor Manny becomes. He probably had a handful of lines, and was in at least a dozen or so shots. The other guy is a bit more known of an actor, so I'm guessing he was probably cast for the bigger part. You should still watch the episode, it was entertaining if you've liked the show at all.

For HACF, or any other character rather than just BG. I just found out a friend of mine is the Post Coordinator on season 2 of that show.

Very nice. Yeah, I need to get more involved with the ever-growing Atlanta TV and film industry.

They're talking about moving it to SyFy and re-titling it Hellblazer and getting closer to the DC roots.

^ Would be amazing. Quality of the show is far too good at this point to simply die out. I haveve been thoroughly entertained these past few episodes.

That would be amazing as said below (also believable, since Comcast owns both channels). Have they talked about whether they would re-cast it? I hope all the main people (Constantine, Zed, Chaz, and Manny) would be allowed to come back. This show falls on a pretty low budget end for network TV, so I'm imagining they could probably not lose a ton of production value going to Syfy. Where did you read this? I'd like to look at it.

Agree, it's a shame NBC didn't try to move Grimm to 8pm and Constantine to 9pm to see how that would go. Constantine has no chance at 8pm. It's also way too dark to belong there. It sounds like there may be encouragement for the "season finale" really being just a "season finale".

I read that, and it doesn't read like PR babble. Coupled with the description in the promo of "season finale", I'm putting the reality of it moving to well above 50 percent. It might not retain its audience with the move (it would need to retain most of its L+SD audience to even get extra seasons on cable), but I'm glad to hear they're not doing anything dumb with it if it does move.

A key thing to realize is that most shows that are rumored to be saved from cancellation typically are moving to something like Netflix or some random channel. When the rumors involve channels inside the family (like an NBC show moving to USA or Syfy, or a CBS show moving to A&E), you have to put a lot more stock in them. I don't feel good about the chances yet, but I'm cautiously optimistic this is for real.

So, umm, Manny said the brujeria works for him. Does that mean he really works for the bad guy? And I guess this shouldn't really come as a surprise from watching the movie, but it still came as a surprise. Hopefully they'll get to continue on Syfy.
