That was probably the best episode of the season. It's at least top 3 along with Jersey Shore and Chardee MacDennis. I can't figure out why this show is so inconsistent sometimes, one week it sucks and the next it's best on TV. What is it, does anyone know?

If they didn't take chances they'd never deliver the awesomeness

the writers, probably. in the early seasons Charlie & Mac (and sometimes Dennis) wrote a lot of it, now not very much, for whatever reason. and now the writing team seems to change basically every episode, so that probably helps to explain the inconsistency.

edit: interesting to note that 2 of the eps you liked, Jersey Shore & Thunder Gun Express, were written by the same guys, and the classic Charlie/Mac writing team put the Chardee MacDennis ep together

Unfortunately, the guys who wrote Thundergun and Jersey Shore (the Chernin's) are pretty new, and they also wrote the dreadful "Dennis Gets Divorced" so the jury might still be out on them. I would definitely like to see more of them though.

It's always awesome when Rob and Charlie get together, but they've done only 3 episodes in the last two years (good ones obviously: Chardee, Who Got Dee Pregnant, Gang Buys Boat).

Glenn, his episodes look very hit and miss to me. Most of his better ones, he co-wrote with Rob or Charlie, so I think he should stick to acting.

David Hornsby (Rickety Cricket) should definitely write more (DENNIS System, Mac is a Serial Killer, and the Lethal Weapon 5 episode), even though his only episode so far this year is Frank's Brother.

Scott Marder and Rob Rosell had a lot of great early episodes (Korea Situation, Frank Sets Sweet Dee on Fire, Sweet Dee Has a Heart Attack), but the quality of their recent work isn't up to par (Frank's Pretty Woman and Frank's Little Beauties). I'd say keep them but don't have them write as much.

And it looks like there's also a lot of random one or two episode writers who are probably just friends of the crew who said, "Hey, you wanna try my fanfic?" Sorry gang, but your friends just aren't that good. That's a compliment to you though, you're better than them!

Wow. I always felt that everything took a big dive in season 4 (not that it was awful, but a let down after the AMAZING season 3). Now that I look at that list I can see why. This season is barely watchable imo, which sucks cuz this was pretty much my fav show of all time

I got it.

Spoiler:
A simple search for "hot chick Thunder Gun" will point you in the right direction. IMDB is usually pretty good for this as well. Notice how I didn't spoil anything relating to another show.

Hornsby had his own sitcom to work on this season so it's not surprising he didn't write much. How to Be a Gentleman was very quickly cancelled, though, so he may be available to write more again.

Disagree on Marder/Rosell, insofar as I think Frank's Pretty Woman and Frank Reynolds' Little Beauties were two of the better episodes of the season.

Hornsby seems like such an unfunny guy, im surprised he's written some of the best episodes.

I've been watching my season 3 dvd, now those are some great episodes.

I know Hollywood people want to work on multiple projects, but honestly, there are VERY few I've ever seen do it without the quality of their work plummeting. It's just a shame so many of them don't seem to realize this.

I'm all for keeping Marder/Rosell, I'm just saying their recent episodes can't touch the awesomeness of their older ones. Either they're just on a cold streak or some shaking up is needed. I doubt that'll happen though, this show is guaranteed for another year or two, so there's no threat of cancellation or anything that would make them want to shake it up.

But if we can get some cycle of the Chernins, Rob/Charlie, Hornsby, and Marder/Rosell, then we'll have ourselves a show again. Each would only have to write like 3 episodes a year. Hell, I could do that even if I was working on another show

I think he wrote like half that season, so yeah, he's a legit writer. IMO, they should just kill off Cricket (many hilarious ways they could do it too) so he can focus on writing.

Also, the Waitress mentioned she couldn't find her nametag. Does that mean she's Nikki?

Very good episode, I'm super-psyched for next week, season finale, bitches!
