Asian champ made a nice true daily double to make the game close again, but the youngster in the middle really gave it to him over those last dozen questions.

Texas Hold'em was the fj answer! It was something like "This game was commemorated in 2007 as having originated in Corpus Christi. It is now also played online."

Damn, one would think Texas Hold'em being the final jeopardy would generate some interest.

Disappointed in the kid for not going big on the last dd in the x5 category, which had already proven to be one of the easiest categories ever. He should have bet at least 10k. Could have had a 40k+ game.

God damn it!

Rashad1428's Youtube account got taken off by Sony today, so I won't be able to watch Jeopardy every morning now. I actually have to wait til 7 PM local time to watch it on TV with the commercials...

If someone finds a working channel/link with past episodes, please share!

Kid messed up, blew a huge lead in DJ. That's why when you have a big lead like the 12k-2k or so he had when he hit the daily double, you attempt to step on the throat of your opponents and demoralize them with like a 6k wager.

Finally caught up on the last 10 million eps of this I had DVR'd. Minor lol at the chick on Friday whose DD wager with two clues left was small enough that it would require her to get both remaining ones right to take the lead going into FJ. Of course she winds up doing just this, so doesn't get punished.

In before the 12yo kids this week make better wagers than the adults.

Random thought: I was idly thinking about balla Jeopardy strategies and thought of something that would be the GOAT if someone actually did it. The scenario: With one $2000 clue to go, scores are something like $12500 for player A, $7000 for player B, and a non-factor player C. Trebek reads the last clue, it's clear that none of the three players know it. As a gambit, player A buzzes in at the last second and confidently makes a reasonable-sounding response without phrasing it as a question (maybe even overacting with a facepalm afterwards). B takes the bait, tries to pick up some easy $$$ by buzzing in with "What is [the same wrong answer]", leaving A with a runaway at $10500 to $5000.

Kids shows are funny. FJ is "Of the 4 states that begin and end with the same vowel, the one that doesn't begin and end with the same letter as the other three states." Girl answers "Florida," then gives a wtf look when Alex tells her she is wrong.

I watched one kids show this week, the little girl in red in the middle: every question she's hammering her buzzer 1000 clicks per second (but continually getting beaten to the punch by the boy who won in a runaway), and her eyes are as big as dinner plates, and her head is thrust forward...her body language just screaming, "OOOOHHH, I KNOW THIS ONE, I KNOW THIS ONE!!!!!" Every question. Cracked me up.

B.D., the kid that won, was awesome. But chances are he's going to get beat up a lot in the future. He's pretty cocky.

I'm wondering why his FJ response looked like it was typed and not handwritten.

I thought the final jeopardy today was way too easy even for kids, but then the leader missed it lol. It was something like "Some New Zealand leader put the last signature on the document that ended this in September of 1945."

I felt bad for the little dude on tonights (Thursday's) show... doubt he could have been more nervous, and each mistake just made him more and more flustered. Was happy that he was able to pull himself out of the -2kish hole and end up getting second.

Remember in the 80's when that mailman was on and risked everything, and his answer was 3 people who have never been inside his kitchen?

Yes, in Jeopardy circles people still refer to making a big bet to put a lock game at risk as pulling a Clavin.

Glad this new Asian champ got knocked out. The way he mumbled out the answers tilted me. I honestly couldn't understand him sometimes. Plus I hated his weak daily double bets. I liked the new champ because trailing with a minute left he smartly went for the 2k clue, then once he got the 1800 lead he picked the 400 and 800 clues rather than the 1200 and 800 to guarantee his lead heading into final jeopardy.

the guy who won today reminds me of doctor swanson from office space, even the way he holds the signalling device was like when doctor swanson was making a fist in front of his chest as he was about to keel over. anyway, again tonight there was the senseless $600 DD wager. he obviously didnt think he was going to get the question right (and he didnt); he obviously didnt want to bet anything. so why throw $600 in the fire? bet ****ing $1 or $0 or whatever the smallest amount you can bet is.

Seemingly young kid gets nearly 40k heading into fj and ends up with 48k. Impressive. Wish he would have at least gone for 50k though. I would have done 55k.

Wow, that might be the record for first two games out at $103k. Unfortunately the Jeopardy message forum is still out after the Sony attacks to know for sure. I like his aggressive daily double betting. From what I can gather from a quick Internet search, Mark is a 24-year-old student at the University of Idaho.

dude is a beast, Awesome DD wagering. It's one thing to say that you "should" wager like that, but it's another to actually do it.

Reminds a bit of Roger from early on this season in that he is a very good player with really aggressive betting. Pretty sick two day total.

Back to Earth today, but still won. Tom seemed like a good player who could have rolled off a few wins against another champion or with better luck on the daily doubles.
