But I agree. It seems super unlikely. I was just kind of thinking out loud.
Yes, they do get paper if requested.

Was I the only poker playing idiot that didn't recognize those versions of Poker in the poker clue? I mean, I could have guessed it was poker anyways since it was the $200 clue in a gambling category, but still.

There were also a couple very mysterious triple stumpers last night. One was Camus and the plague and there was definitely one other I couldn't believe noone buzzed in but I don't remember now.

"These 2 green numbers in roulette give the house an edge"

Triple Stumper.

Old Chicago is 7 card stud, low spade in the hole splits. Don't remember the other name, but it was a pretty common home game.

Chicago is mentioned, explained and played in Rounders when Mike and Worm chop up the trust fund babies outside of town the day Worm gets sprung.

I definitely played it in college way back when. Admittedly haven’t heard of Follow the Queen.

That's a dumb clue imo. I don't think any particular numbers give the house an edge. 0 and 00 do just as much as 14 and 33 do.

If it weren't for 0(2.7%) and 00(5.26%) the house would have no edge. Casinos in Europe used to only use one 0 while recently some casinos have also added a 000. The zeros are how various casinos adjust the odds as numbers 1-36 are constant.

You probably just didn't recognize "follow the Queen" as it's official name should be "follow the bitch"

If it weren't for 35 and 36 the house would have no edge.

Follow the Queen. Another home game stud variant, the next upcard dealt after a queen becomes wild.

Also ignore my roulette comments since I now realize the clue says green numbers so my pedantic point is wrong.

Right! OUr variation was that the player with the current wild card could match the pot to nullify the new one.

My local broadcast cut to Lester Holt with a breaking news update literally the second Mayim was reading the clue about what channel Lester Holt does the news for in Single Jeopardy! Was odd, and kind of freaky, especially given the breaking news of the day.

Scores going into FJ: 16800; 15400; 2000

FJ wagers: 10000; 8000; 2200

Looks like I don't understand Jeopardy! meta game anymore..

FWIW, Ryan Long is at 14 games with an average Coryat below 17k. People hated on Mattea for being a bad super champion even though her average Coryat was >20k.

I’m a big fan of Ryan Long. Seems like a great guy who’s really down to earth with an excellent sense of humor.

I like him too. I wonder if he's gonna get wrecked in the tournament of champtions or not, he'll have to rely on the buzzer and maybe he'll figure out he needs to bet a lot more on DJs by then.

Agree, Ryan seems like a good guy. Good for him, hope TOC goes well, but I imagine that ends up being Matt vs Amy.

Kind of the point. The rest of field won't matter, they'll get mowed down.

If he had a newsletter I would definitely want to subscribe to it.

I do agree that he really needs to hammer those DJ's, especially in TOC.

Him winning the ToC would be a great story.

Odds are he'll be totally outmatched on the buzzer though. His first in buzzer % is in the neighborhood of 43. It's going to be very hard for him to beat people who are in the mid 50s.
