The blonde with junk in the trunk was cute. LOL @ not knowing Steve Irwin. That was absurdly bad.

12/18 three women; not a one of them wagers FJ correctly.

Leader has 16,200; 2nd is at 14,300; 3rd is at 6,400.

3rd can only win if 1st and 2nd both miss, I would say a bet of 2,599 would be optimal for her giving her a win with a WWR, and WWW assuming 1 and 2 bet correctly. For some reason she bets a seemingly arbitrary amount of $4,000. Of the 3 this is probably the best bet (or stated differently, the slightest mistake).

I would contend that 2nd should shove but she bets 1,901 which puts her $1 ahead of 1st should first pat. She gets it right and ends up with $16,201. Of the 3, I would say this was the worst error.

I would contend that first should bet to cover a shove by second. She ends up getting it right but only bet 5,000, unfortunately she is not punished for her mistake.

2nd not cover betting is actually probably optimal (should be able to win anytime 1st misses and should not win very often whenever 1st gets it right). 1st is almost never going really small. The big error from 2nd is allowing 3rd a chance to pass on a miss. I'd max out 1499, so a miss leaves 12801. Perfectly fine with $0.

1st and 2nd are so close AND if 2nd bets small, then 3rd is locked out. How much will 2nd overbet by? I like a $0 bet from 3rd. Need 1st and 2nd to miss AND 2nd to make a mistake. When 1st and 2nd miss, I'm a big dog to get the question correct, so the 0-2599 and hope 2nd is an idiot. $4,000 is just so random and accomplishes basically nothing. If 3rd is just going for WWR, then 3rd should just shove.

I suppose we could assume that 1st was doing a level 2 or 3 wager, figuring that 2nd wouldn't risk it all because of 3 lurking. But I doubt it and agree that $5,000 seems random. If first wants to level 2, $2 is sufficient. I like the cover bet unless I absolutely hate the category.

i think i just set a personal best for the number of triple stumpers i've ever got in a single round during friday's double jeopardy.

i pretty much suck and was so pleased i went back to count them, 5: caber, sabermetrics, winter palace, 1920, minnetonka (thx chappelle's show).

i've also managed to pull some pretty sick **** on learned league lately too. it's a cool feeling to be (very slowly) getting better at trivia!

Some awful FJ wagers Tuesday. But winner is at least cute.

At least Tuesday there were some choices to make and a complicated situation.

On Monday it was 15,000 to 10,000. 2nd can bet 0 hoping for the 5,001 wager. Also might make since for 1st to bet 5,000 even, so 2nd betting it all is also a rational choice. (Chances to win with 2 backup chances to tie and win on the tiebreaker)

Betting 7500 from 2nd is just so random.

+1 on Tuesday cutie.

This.

And OK, I'm clearly an idiot, but what's the disadvantage Alex spoke of causing the re-invite? I didn't follow the reasoning he gave.

According the Jboard, the final clue referenced the moon landing*, which might be interpreted to mean only Armstrong and Aldrin, not Collins. So sounds like they admitted that their wording was poor enough to invite back a player.

*as opposed to the moon mission.

So Ashley gets to come back, but how about Camille's $16,002? I assume she's just out of luck.

Bad FJ all-around: two poor wagers, and one terribly-worded question.

Ah OK, makes sense. I wonder if she made that argument after the show or if a show staffer raised the issue.

But the reason she lost was not that she got it wrong. It was her awful wager.

You can't award an incorrect answer. If she had lost I'm sure they would have invited her back also. Yeah terrible job by the writers, even though I knew it was probably Collins.

Should be all 3 coming back if the champ could do simple math. She got the suicide wager she needed from 2nd.

I expect 1 or both of the challengers protested immediately after FJ.

Should have been worded, "First lunar landing mission"

Can't just say "first moon mission" since Apollo 8 & 10 both went to the moon but didn't land.

Has this ever happened before ?
It seems like a terrible oversight by the writers not to catch the problem particularly on a FJ question, but props to the show for admitting their error and resolving it fairly.

Three completely clueless players Wednesday. Loved when the guy was down by 1800 and chose the 800 clue over the 2k in the final seconds.

Almost as bad as the $0 FJ bet by the leader.

Is the "What is Georgia?" the easiest daily double ever? Feel like that should be on Kids Jeopardy. Like seriously, name a state that borders Florida???

I had the same reaction. Ridiculously easy. Even if they just said a US state and left out bordering Florida it would have been pretty easy.
