Skip to about 7 minutes. The video is really really bad and there's annoying stupid kids failing miserably to answer but you can see it there.

Is purposely stalling just against the ethics of Jeopardy competition?

Or, if another player complains can you get penalized?

Redhead on end was very nice today (well at least in the jeopardy world). Very funny that one of the categories was spices and a question/answer was "What is ginger". Sadly, the regular fugly in the middle gave the answer not the hottie.

Ok so tonight the reigning champ had 19k vs 17k vs 7k.

The 7k lady bet 0.

The 17k bet 1200.

The champ bet 12k.

They all got it right.

Seemed pretty ******ed to me.

actual wagers:
Danni ($7,200), bet $0
Andrew ($16,200), bet: $1,500
Tom ($19,600), bet: $12,801

suggested wagers:

(ie. all bet pretty much optimally)

Yeah jarchive is pretty sick. You can open up almost any past show, see how the game played out (also look at questions and answers). Then at the bottom there's a "see wagering suggestions for these scores" that gives similar links to the one I gave. There's actually a lot of special cases for final Jeopardy wagering. You'll notice on that link I gave, it said "four-fifths for first place" (which is a special case). Read those links if you want further explanation, as those links explain the logic behind the suggested bets in more detail.

Also, I wouldn't feel to bad about not knowing how to wager final jeopardy It's fairly complicated, and only really necessary to learn if you're going to be on the show. Now if you had $20000 riding on knowing how to properly wager, I would make fun of you for not spending an hour or two learning correct wagering strategy.

Christ, tonight's was the easiest final jeopardy question EVER!! wtf do you think the answer was. 15th amendment. first black guy.

piece of cake.

/rant

Answer: The Day after the 15th Amendment took effect, Thomas Peterson became the 1st African American to do this under its provisions

Question:
Spoiler:
what is vote

one guy still got it wrong, but it was way too easy. words 'african american' should have been excised, that makes it a much harder question.

Really wanted Ester to win. Hot.

The final daily double wager of 10k came as a shock. Wasn't it a tad too much with like 4 questions remaining?

Yeah that was maybe one of the worst wagers ever.

Guy with Daily Double had 22,200. Guy in 2nd had 16,600. Like 3-4 questions left. Guy with Daily Double bets 10k, which won't make it a runaway.

Yeah I came here to post about that. The guy wasn't thinking, he was on a rush after his other daily double. Alex's reaction to the bet was pretty funny. The current champion is good.

It was more bad because it was such a tough category.

Not as easy as you think. I got it right, but I was just guessing.

agree with pwnsall. that category was ****ing tough imo and if he gets the question right, people here would love it. just wager 12k or 14k and he can get a runaway in FJ.

it's a bad wager on a difficult category and it was a 1600 question. if it were 800 that's a better wager. azns love to gambooool.

i didnt like the wager, but i appreciate azn gambool

i mean if the desired effect is for it to be "out of the hands" of the champion, then go all in

one day i plan on getting onto jeopardy, and my dream is to be in the asians guys spot and wager everything. doesnt matter if i get it right or wrong lol.

i almost leveled myself into guessing "run for office" because i figured no answer would be that easy, but there ya go

Did they not have to register to vote back in the day? Did he camp outside the booth to be first in line? Just curious.

Also guy watched White Men Can't Jump first. - started to feel in the zone after the 7k wager (seemed a bit suspect), but couldn't bring himself to say all of it.

YES! This. I really thought "vote" was TOO obvious, so I kept trying and trying to think of something else that would work and also thought run for office haha, but stuck with vote.

I didn't think that guy's last DD wager was TOO bad. He would have won the game if he bet like ~3k or less, b/c the champ made a nice run at the end iirc. At least 10k gave him a nice shot at the runaway (ie. get more points than the champ in the last few couple). I'm always surprised how little people bet on DD's, so it's nice to see someone bet a bunch even if it wasn't the best bet and if it didn't work out

the asian dude must have leveled himself into his answer. i'm sure he googled the **** out of it after the show finished. i didn't like the bet because i don't see how he can think his edge in that category can be worth more than being in control in final jeopardy. lol at the azn gambool comments. also couldn't tell if he was crunching numbers while coming up with his bid or just spazzing out.
