I think most people would get used to it, I have. It's six categories, not 50.

When I said we should probably be thankful, it was in the sense that we're grateful that mainstream poker thinking is still extremely behind the curve.

It's not Celebrity Jeopardy if Trebek is the most famous person in the room.

Barely recognized him in the preview.

I thought it kind of odd that Alex didn't comment on Penn's weight loss.

Catching up on last week's episodes, just want to say that Bellamy (whoever she is) is the most annoying contestant of all time.

I kind of liked Bellamy, but no biggie. The softball questions were worse than Kids J!, though. Just not much fun to watch.

Nice 2nd level FJ wager by the champ tonight.

Id actually call that level 1--simply accounting for a miss on 1sts cover bet.

The standard bet it all but a buck strategy from that situation is level 0 or maybe even -1.

And since we are counting on 1st to miss, a 0 or small wager might be more optimal. Still it didn't suck.

I consider level zero giving no thought to what others are doing and just bet a % of your stack based on the category or your "gut". Level one, cover second's all-in by a buck (and this is still optimal by most accounts). So level two is countering that. And maybe he liked the category. It was a pretty tough FJ. Basically guess a Disney princess.

But semantics.

Agreed. Kinda like ground floors numbers in US v Europe.

I have a 20 year old daughter so disney princesses of the 1990s are in my wheelhouse. The Indian name in the clue was the giveaway. Saw that movie 50 times without ever really watching it.

I thought this was a pretty simple FJ. The clue was basically "name an animated Disney American Indian female."

Wow I somehow completely ignored the "Little Dove" clue in the first name and just focused on Christy Turlington. Lol me.

Every time I hear christy turlington's name the first thing I think about is Knish in Rounders saying, when Mike McDermont asks him for $10k, "yeah, and I need a blowjob from Christy Turlington. Get out of here."

i always think of an artie story where he's talking about paying $20k(?) for a hooker in vegas, '$20k, wtf?' 'she looked like a young christy turlington'

AARRRGGHHH. FJ ended 18K-9K and we were going to see the tie-scenario under the new rules of no ties...

But denied, there were scoring changes, resulting in a lock game.

Yeah I was wondering what the wagers would be. Thoughts on optimal wagers in the scenario?

$1 I guess, we have the chance that we get it correct which is little above 50% and then if we are wrong 2nd is wrong close to 60% of the time for the backdoor win. About 80%.

If we go $0 we got about 50% to win on a 2nd missing (since we have no indicator if the question is harder or easier than normal) and 50% on the buzzer flip. So 75%

If you're going for $1 you might as well go for the amount up to the point where 3rd could catch you.

Category dependent? (but in a vacuum definitely yes you are right).

Also there has to be some LOLZ 2nd place player that will bet it all but $1....
(Hopefully we can ignore that possibility but I really do think its not 0%).

Before watching, I was telling my friend that Kevin O'Leary was on celebrity Jeopardy, and we did a Shark Tank jeopardy draft. He took Cuban, I took Mr. Wonderful, then it went Robert, Barbara, Lori, and Damon. Well I finally watched the episode and am in shock he was THAT horrible, JFC.

Sigh.
18,900
8,400
7,800

8,400 lady hits DD (1200 value) with 5 clues remaining totaling 5200. Leader/returning champ has been killing on the button.

wagers 400 (gets it wrong but thats besides the point).

AND THEN SHE PICKS a $400 clue.
