I don't understand what you are even trying to say. First in these spots almost always bet enough to cover 2nd place doubling, and 2nd place has to bet according to this. By betting 10.4k for 2nd, you are making two things have to occur, you have to get the question right, and first has to miss the question to win, if you bet some other smaller amount now first only has to miss and you can win still missing yourself.

Cops is part of Fox's prime time programming. It is not first-run syndication.

In fact, according to wikipedia, America's Most Wanted and Cops on Saturday nights is the longest running block of primetime television in history.

It isn't a belittling comment first of all it is the truth. The show asks for a primetime show and a contestant picks out a Channel??? Are you actually telling me that someone who doesn't know the difference from a TV Channel and a tv show isn't moronic at that moment? lol

The difference is because it comes from someone who has to pass a test to get on the show which should show some type of intelligence no? So answering with a name of a television station when you could have come up with any type of tv show Jerkass? It is just funny Jerkass, and I am sure if someone screwed up you would laugh at them too! Stop being a hyprocrite unless this is a gimmick account which it could very well be, in which case your post was pretty good!

I'm still a few episodes behind on DVR, so this comment is a few days out-dated:

I can't believe nobody got the Broadway FJ question right.

Now that I've written that, I know I must now post the question here, but I don't expect many from the young male OOT demographic to get this:

Name the only actress who won a Tony for playing a male role, in 1955, still the only actress who has ever done it.

Spoiler:
Mary Martin, who played Peter Pan.

All three contestants guessed Julie Andrews. None of the three were young males.

i guessed julie andrews too. not only would i have had no idea, if someone asked me, what is mary martin famous for, i wouldn't've had any clue ('is she HOF running back curtis martin's mother?). and the fact that i guessed julie andrews should give you some idea that i'm not totally clueless on the subject.

it's easy in jeopardy to think that every question you know, everyone else should know, and that every question you don't know, no one else should know. ytf demonstrating that pretty well here.

I would guess that any question about the 1955 Tony Awards are in the 90+% percentile of difficult FJ questions

Man, I thought the Mary Martin question was easy and I'm surprised none of them got it.

I don't think it's common knowledge or anything, but among the Jeopardy! player pool I believe it is. Not specifics like the year or the fact she won a Tony, but that Peter Pan is traditionally played by a woman, and the person most famous for this is Mary Martin.

how about we change this thread to the "thinly veiled brag about an answer to a question that you got right and someone else missed" thread? get over yourselves; nobody cares.

and nucleon, you totally missed the point i was making. some guy gave a bad answer in FJ when he had no idea what the answer was--not exactly postworthy. i was saying any answer is better than leaving the answer field blank. for you however, i think you should be leaving the message field blank a lot more often.

because all of them thought of victor/victoria ldo. there was another answer to the question that made sense.

I don't think anyone is bragging about answering a question that the contestants got wrong. Just the logic of it all.

First it was a woman, and not a man. And it was a funny answer when you consider that this is a show that people think of intelligence when they think of it. It isn't like this was a tough topic. Look at the amount of primetime tv shows out there, and you are telling me she just can't name one? It isn't like it was some tough topic at all that required a ton of thinking skill just to guess a answer. She named a TV Channel after all! That's funny!

That is incorrect Jerkass. Leaving a answer you know is incorrect is just as bad as leaving a blank answer because both are incorrect. For someone who belittles people, and real life people that you meet at a gym on this message forum, you shouldn't be a hyprocrite, and act like you are holier then everyone else. You are a bigot, as I have seen you use gay slurs in your post. If you are going to say, and act like something you should preach it because it is hard to take you seriously unless you are a gimmick poster which I think you are anyways Jerkass.

Decided "Enough talk!", time to Google "How To Get On Jeopardy!".

First link was Jeopardy's site, which said they'd let us know when the next online test will be. The FAQ seems to indicate that this is the only way in. They provided a link to the prior test, in case you wanted to get a sample of how well you would do.

http://www.jeopardy.com/beacontestan.../practicetest/

It's 50 questions. You get 15 seconds per question (you'll have to time yourself if you're going to take the practice test).

I was very pleased with myself while taking the test, but it turns out that I only got 31 answers right (I misspelled a 32nd correct answer badly enough that I think they wouldn't give it to me), and only 1-2 that I missed that maybe I "shoulda got that one". EDIT TO ADD: I'm certain that I read somewhere that you need 35 or more to pass.

Alas, there were no questions about:

So, can anyone here beat my 31?

there's a thread pretty much dedicated to the online qualification tests somewhere on here, I believe it's in OOT

of course like half the people in the thread claim they're getting 30+ on these tests iirc, not that I doubt you did it but the online tests are significantly harder than the actual show's material imo

That test was quite difficult, except for the Lebron question. Every sports question Jeopardy asks would be an easy question on kids week
