Idiotic Jeopardy wagers (no spoilers before 6 EST) - Page 217

I'm much less interested in watching the show every night after watching the awesomeness that was the Battle of the Decades capped off with the amazing two day finale between all-time legends Brad, Ken, and Roger.

The show will never top that. Watching average nightly contestants just seems so bland in comparison.

The HIMYM question seemed ok, I've never watched an episode of the show and it was an instaget. But a lot of them have been terrible, the Blatt/Brat, swan song, and the closest capital to London when there were like three of them separated by 20 miles come to mind.

I hated her and hope she loses tomorrow. Acted like she was better than the others when she really doesn't know as much as she thinks she does. When she blurted out $10,000 on the 2nd DD in DJ even Alex was like "....ok...you know you now risk the lead going into FJ?" She could have bet $7k and secured the lock with a correct answer and the lead going into FJ with an incorrect answer.

I liked her a lot, but the DD wager at the end crossed the line from aggressive to reckless.

I honestly couldn't believe FJ was a WWR, I thought it was going to be an instaget.

0-didn't get the olympics initially, mind went to ET before I re-read the clue and saw event.

Shawn's max score with one clue left was 2x(12,800+2,000)=29,600--so a wager of 6,000 gets her a guaranteed win and keeps her in first by >4,000 if she misses. (Assumes if she gets to 29,600 she does NOT ring in on the 2,000 clue)

True North--you mean RWW, not WWR?-I think our convention is 1st/2nd/3rd even though the questions are revealed inverse of that.

Either way, probably not an optimal bet.

There was something about Terri that I liked. I was bummed when she lost tonight.

Yeah, Terri was a pretty good contestant. Wasn't a weirdo, kept things moving, easy on the eyes, pretty much everything you're looking for in a contestant. Awful awful wager though, especially in light of her 10k overbet during her first game.

Yeah, they're significantly easier, almost 75% at the 800 level. I wrote an article about DD wagering for the 2+2 magazine over the summer if you want to check it out.
