I think most people have no clue how much money there is in big-time TV. In the late 90s, the 4 leads in Seinfeld were supposedly each making between $1M and $2M per episode.
To me, $10M in that industry isn't even close to being near the top. Leno's comp was reputed to be in excess of $25M annually at the end, and back in the early 90's, Letterman's was supposed to be $7M.
Is it possible these numbers are inflated by agents, etc. Sure. But by an order of magnitude. No.
