also everything has happened a bit too quickly. Frank has gone from relatively nowhere to VP to Pres in 2 seasons.
I have a lot of problems with plot holes in season 2, but the "taken care of" part is not one of them. I assume that by "taken care of" Frank is under the assumption that Stamper killed the girl. He's not going to sit there asking for details of how it went, and instead take the word of his trusted assistant.

Nowhere? He was about to be Secretary of State before he got screwed over. He wasn't "nowhere".

Yeah, the McPoyle bros are genius on IASIP. They're always sweaty and greasy, in pjs and just outright disgusting. They fit so well into that show. I think he's the perfect guy to play a stereotypical govt conspiracy hacker type.

Guy's just role with. There were plenty of holes in BB, but that didn't stop us from loving it. Can't think of many great shows where their aren't. Heck even real life has tons of holes Get over it and enjoy it for what it is!

Stamper too smart to murder for Frank. Stamper knows Frank will only protect him only as far as it wouldn't hurt Frank.

FU not going to overtly put hit out as someone could flip on him if it goes bad.

Just finished. Thoughts.

Spoiler:
Threesome scene - It goes back to what Frank said when he was banging out Zoey. "Everything in life is about sex. Except sex. Sex is about power. Claire and Frank both get off on having power and control over people below them. Meachem gets off on being as close as possible to powerful people.

General thoughts - More of the same from S1. Too many subplots that don't get enough depth or attention for my liking. Good but not exceptional TV show.

Stamper - I get the Stamper storyline this season, I just didn't care for it that much. Stamper had an addiction to Rachel. He's battled addiction almost his whole adult life, it's all he knows. At a certain point, he doesn't know how to live without addiction. If he kills Rachel, he kills his addiction and he kills a part of himself. Because he can't ever get over it, his addiction ends up killing him.

I wish the whole Lucas/Jeanine storyilne would have been developed more. Somehow let Lucas and the hacker work together a little longer so they could have had some relationship, that way when the hacker screws Lucas over it has a lot more significance. I just felt like Zoey was such a major character in S1 that her death should have loomed over the whole season instead of just 3-4 episodes.

^Wouldn't be surprised if you get your wish in season 3 (and beyond?). All those figures are set up to play key roles in FU's inevitable fall.

just finished:

Spoiler:
pretty much agree with ccsuster and zimmer's thoughts.

going into this season the one thing I really didn't want was for the show to move too fast and border on nip/tuck type absurdism and for frank to become president by the end of the season. and of course all of that is actually what happened. but it's still a very entertaining show and given the way it's released all at once it's so easy to watch that i'll def still watch future seasons. season 1 >>> season 2

Probably a stupid question, but where was Doug taking Rachel in the last episode?

I do kind of love this show though, and more so now that they've abandoned any pretense of it being "good."

Spoiler:
Underwood killing Zoe was key, and I was rooting for it hard because 1) I hated her character and 2) more importantly, it was the perfect shark-jumping moment, when the show officially let go of any claim to being realistic. It's a much more fun show when you can watch it as crazyland fluff with a murderer as VP and his sociopath wife--basically a silly, bizarro McBeth--rather than a show intending to in any way play on the same level as the West Wing or whatever.

Spoiler:
I don't think it was explicitly stated. The two most likely destinations are "away" and "somewhere she could be killed quietly". It probably doesn't really matter where the actual destination was. In practical terms, it was just a way for them to add some drama ("OMG is he gonna kill her???") and to give her an opportunity to kill Doug and get away to cause mischief at a later date. If they didn't want Doug to be killed, and I am sure this is gonna be important in S3, they could have just had her take off on her own.

Lol the thing to me that stuck out pretty much the whole time was how seriously this show takes itself, like it is the defining political drama of our time. Which is sooo lol

I think it's great everyone realizes this shyt couldn't really happen IRL. Lots of people I know seem to think this stuff happens all the time and use it as an excuse to flame on our political system. I'm like shutup hippie, if u dont like it here then git out! Go USA!
